Did mention the low engine cap...

Possibly have a fast turn rate as well as a fast twist rate, and a large twist arc as well. Give it advantages to offset the lack of the one big light advantage: speed.

Though that lack of that advantage would be a huge disadvantage for the chassis.

Agreed. It also, to my mind demonstrates the shortsightedness of doubling the armor. 90% of the 3025 designs are unplayable stock, and yet why would they produce inherently inferior models as the primary? They didn't. Fact is, with original armor, mechs like the assassin and urbie work ( not saying easily) MW2 Mercs proved that. And Star League designs were to give a decent advantage, not totally obsolete all that came before (read the 3050 & 2750 TROs for proof).

Goes back to the whole why didn't they balance and solidify the base 3025 tech before monkeying around with future tech? And the bloody yo-yo now will never end. In fact once clan tech hits, I expect it to get REAL ugly.

Yeah.

Expect the stock Hunchback IIC to be an incredibly ugly mech to face...

For about fourteen seconds (the paired Ultra 20s should be able to run through the 2 tons of ammo the stock mech comes equipped with in that time, assuming no jams). Though expect an shutdown from overheat in six seconds (3 salvos) due to the heat cap of 54.

Still, that's 120 damage before shutdown, 280 points total... It'll crack anything but an Atlas in six seconds.

Thing is though, the light armor on the stock mech ( 36 points on the CT after MWO's doubling) means that a Hexaped Stalker or big LRM boat (or anything else with a hefty alpha, for that matter) is going to crush it like a tin can with a single salvo. Even shoving the armor from the arms onto the torsos isn't going to make it much more survivable.

So that mech is basically going to be exactly what it is in TT, a suicide ride. Get close, burn ammo, pray you kill something before you get cored.

My thought here, and this may be the perfect solution, is an Urbie only Tournament. The winner to receive a banner and some amount of MC. Imagine the bragging rights as the Ultimate Urbie Pilot. Heck there could be a free cockpit trophy for winning, a model bobble head Urbanmech, Just my take on this conundrum. There is massive support in the community for one, but I agree that they would be useless in most maps. Of course the tournament would be a series of 24 mech free for alls. The winners to rise in the ranks until the end. Because "There can be only ONE."

I just can't wait to be the last mech on my team ( not due to skill, but cuz that's how long it'll take Urbie to cross most maps) and use cover to sneak up on the last remaining enemy Stalker, start leghumping it and laugh when he realizes his OMG amazing assault mech can't depress it's gun enough to hit me.

(of course, he might be able to outrun me........)

I use a the Spider 5k for my urbanMech right now. Ave 120-160 damage a game. Kill an atlas pilot who thought I had m.g. Core him out through the back.

I Love the urban mech. It is just awesome.... But at the current state of the game, I see why it would be a waste of resources. Since we already have the ravens, we can easily reproduce an urbie. The chassis initial advantage was the heavy ballistic mount on a light mech. Our modification rules allow that anyway, so there is no reason to add an.chassis inferior to the ravens.

Voted yes on all points. FFS. Tout designs are awesome.

The urbie with 360 twist would be something similar to something with spines everywhere. You cant ger behind him and chase him which many use as a tactic to stay behind em when he can just spin his turret and continue to blast away. The spider is a good baseline and we only need a few less actuators in the arm and a 60 engine that includes the 10 heatsinks - after all, that engine is punished enought by being horribly slow - spiders at 54km/h is slow enough.

A niche mech but an awesome niche.

April 1 would be a good release date. :)

ok urbanmech was great for its time it is ment to be slow. but it was made for power. as a light mech it was pure power. to add this in man keep in mind its uses. emc not so much ... the urdie is a walking trashcan lol wel what they allways called it it is made yes to beable to hide in urban maps ... well some what ... more or less your enemy is ment to walk up on you and get blasted to all hell . and in wich if you are any kind of pilot you would eather make a kill shot or do what is called leg shot. aka cripple your enemy. back in the old days lose a leg you fall over. you where done for. not so much now you just limp. so in the sence it would be a very nice power house to the lights. though thease days it will not be able to get away it is kill on the spot or your dead. i would love to see it in use but honestly the panther was a better choice with its ppc. i want your police one with working sirens. great for a distraction :)

I have to say, I find myself strangely drawn to "Officer Urbie." I feel like he has a story, and it needs to be told. If you were ever inclined to post an "Officer Urbie" comic, I would give you internet cookies. Many of them.

I already see it coming:

Alpine Conquest.
People look around to inspect their team...
Finally the first posts a message: "Have we all dropped in an Urbie?"
