What some people dont realize is that the initial clan invasion happened over a span of 1 1/2 to 2 years. From the initial first wave in march of 3050 to the battle of tukayyid in 3052, the borders did not magically go from Posted Image

instantaneously. It happens over the span of a few years, and between 3052 and 3057 the occupation zone does not change in any large way at all.

They could get away with accelerating the first stages of the invasion so that instead of happening over 2 years it happened over one, OR they could suspend the time line for a year, OR instead of jumping to 3051 on january 1st 2014 they could reset back to january 1st 3050 and we do that same year over again, meaning we would get clans in march (Q1 of 2014). It really doesn't matter, i just want my Summoner.

Actually i like the sound of repeating the year 3050, it would work perfectly.

but just to drive home my point

the only real change that will come to the occupation zone in the invasion era happens in 3057

The timeline plot is stupid.
We don't have interstellar travel - the game would be unplayable when you have to wait 2 or 3 months between battles for a planet.
So screw the timeline and add - alternative lobbys for different time lines
(Some battles in the 3rd / 4th Succession War, some in war of 39, some fight against ClanInvasion, some in the trials for the annihilation of Clan SJ, some in the Civil War and some try to enlight mankind)

The clan invasion has already started. The problem is that they are all still currently stuck at the customs inspection. Something about some Kahn not wanting to divulge the freight contents of his personal Dropship by claiming diplomatic immunity although he doesnt have the needed papers.

Plus a SaKahn was caught drunken and disorderly at one of the more seedier outlets of the 4D holoshows and is being detained in one of the holding cells to sober up (since 4 months now... so let that be a lesson for you. stop at your 9000th beer for the evening at the latest).

the clan invasion is on schedule! sometime in december, The MWO community will exodus in mass in an invasion of STAR CITIZEN. Christ PGI is screwed, the alpha for SC will be just like MWO(Deathmatch, DEATHMATCH DEATHMATCH) but work. More importantly Cloud Imperium is handling what does not work in the appropriate manner, by communicating.

I wonder if anyone has done a stat regression of community response, the feeling (mmmmm so good!) is that SC communicates within about 24-48 hours of an issue, where as MWO takes about 6 months to even acknowledge a problem, let alone say something about it. I guess the clan's work in the periphery is affecting the hyperpulse network worse than we think...

^^ What he said. I am a little nervous about this as well.

FWIW, this Necro thread is pretty revealing. We will be ~at least~ a year out (even from now, I think) from the Clans, much less anything like CW. I bet we get UI 2.0 in March 2014 and go on from there.

It really is time PGI starts spending some of that Pheonix money and hire a few more people to their team. For a game of this size to only have 45ish folks working on it is ridiculous. Imagine what they could do with 2 dozen interns and 10 more hired staff...

But because Clans will "probably, maybe" become a playable faction, it is also necessary that they have some planets under their control, so the map of 3052 would be pretty good start for the Clans.., also with the current development time PGI needs to create new content, another year before clans will be pretty realistic.

But we know nothing multiplied by 9000 about PGI's plans concerning the clans.....

I may be wrong but I believe the purpose of the Phoenix mechs was to buy a few months where the content was finished and just waiting in queue to be released so they could push out UI 2.0, CW, and clan tech.

Also i'm not sure you actually grasp how much 10 more hired staff costs, because its ALOT more than you think.

The point he's trying to make is that the clan invasion is perhaps one of the biggest events in the history of the inner sphere. Never before had any single power or group of powers altered the map of the inner sphere so much. The scale of operation revival was truly massive. What we all want is to feel that "shock and awe", when the clans come in seemingly from nowhere and take a quarter of the inner sphere just like that. It should inspire fear.

I believe there will be no shock or awe associated with the "Clan Invasion".

From the way the game has been developing, the introduction of the clans will probably just be a clan mech purchase package similar to the phoenix package. Just a collection of mechs with some unlockable "extras" based on sales.

60 000 a year on average, and thats only for new programmers. That number rises with experience. I actually learn about this stuff pal. Game development and Entrepreneurship major.

PGI already said they're not following the calendar any more.

And at the speed they code, a more accurate conversion rate would be ''one month in 2013 lasts one day in 3050''.

But then again, when they will implement CW the inner shere map will probably look like:

(Yes I know the Clans are already invading the inner sphere, they have already had 4 invasion waves, crushing parts of the Inner Sphere, but alas..)

So they probably want to have Clans up and running, at the end of next year, (with Clan packages, just like the Phoenix package) and if we are lucky they will release phase 1 of CW in summer 2014..., and in the end of 2014, begin 2015 they will release CW phase 2.
