I get that you want to defend the game, but this behavior has the opposite effect.
BE EFFIN' NICE, that will help the game more than snarky comments ever will. Like 10x more.
OP, I hear ya, it's odd that there is not a working slider in the options menu. In the meantime we have to adapt and there are 2 ways I know of.
1) mod the user.cfg file
"Mouse sensitivity; Go to ~ (hard drive):\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\User.Cfg, open it with a text editor and add the following lines:
i_mouse_smooth = 0
i_mouse_accel=0
cl_sensitivity = 0.2
The last figure (0.2) can be adjusted to taste, the default value is 1.0.
This is good but be warned. That " to taste" is on a per game testing, until said "to taste" is found. The game must be restarted with every change to the USER.cfg the "to taste" value can be painful to find initially."
2) And this one sucks, buy a new mouse with a DPI adjustment.

So are you telling me that several hundred years of consumer protection law doesn't exist? Are you six?
LOL are you telling me that hundreds of years of consumer protection laws define a video game as being in beta or release? Are you hundreds of years old (and also a law)?!
Beta is beta

People still think this game is in Beta because they say it is. That's cute.

The OP was not without snark.
It's not about defending the game so much as defending changes that many people have been waiting for for literally forever. Joystick analog turning is huge to people who want to use it, and the "What I don't care about, I will actively oppose" mentality that seems so common is doing more to rip up the game community than anything else.
If people would stop trying to tamp down other people's agendas in favor of their own, maybe we could start calling it a community.
If the original post were simply "where's my mouse sensitivity slider", instead of "how come you got what you want when I didn't get what I want", there'd be less than 1/10 the snark against it.

In fairness, a mouse sensitivity slider is a hell of a lot easier to implement then a suite of control alterations for joysticks. It's something a much larger portion of the community would actually use too.

Why this claptrap before a generic and useful mouse sensitivity adjustment option?
Yes, I far prefer this claptrap:

I really dont ever see this game NOT being beta and thats kinda why its really not lol
They have no incentive to launch the game. They are making money already, they dont have to worry about reviews and critics, to any detractors (like players) they can go "its still beta" and people will still plop down money.
Whats the point to them ever launching this again?

I'm not going to re-hash any of the arguments about which is more important, seeing as that runs counter to my point anyway.
All I'm saying is people need to stop putting down other good ideas because they feel they "get in the way" of their own good ideas, when they completely do not.
You're absolutely right, a slider is easy to do. Nobody sat around at a meeting and said "well let's not spend our time on that slider, that would get in the way of our joystick support." That they didn't do it is because nobody on their team felt it important enough to get around to it, and a thread making a point about doing that is something I would completely be behind.
But not a thread saying that the changes they did make are garbage, when they are absolutely not.
