Id be willing to be it would smash a Corsair H50 or equivalent into the stratosphere.........Function over Form/
Ok you got me, it's only the water-box that I setup for cooling my CPU a couple years ago.
Yes it does smash an H50 into dust, in fact none of the Corsair (all-in-one) units can even come close to what it does.
I know it's ugly, but I put it together with all existing things I had laying around, old plumbing as gas fittings etc, etc, etc,.. Also, J-B Water-Weld is probably the best thing ever created. The water-box itself has about a total of 7 hours labor into it, from start to finish.. Oh, and the tubing is vinyl tubing found at any hardware store for .29 cents a foot cost.
The RADS in the water-box are (2) 12" x 10" copper tube radiators with aluminum fins out of a dead dehumidifier, with a couple 140mm and 120mm fans sandwhiched and opposite sides of the case for flow.
I literally cannot overheat my Phenom II x6 1100t... I can overvolt it to death, but I can't get the temps anywhere near bad.
I never idle above room temp.. I'm setting at 25-C right now with 4 windows up, I can't remember what it does at load, I might have a screenshot somewhere.
Also my coolant mix is 80% water 20% Anti-Freeze (automotive)... Yep
Awful Pic of the first day I had it running..
With all the spare parts, and Macgyvering I did, the total cost with Pump came in at about $89.00. The first waterblock I had was a cheap OCZ block that I lapped the center down on because it was raised, also I lapped the 1100t. The block I run now is an Enzotech block that I pulled the decorative plate off of becuase it was put on with hot glue and I figured it should just come off.
This is a pic of it on the old Sabertooth 990FX mobo... (Now it's on my Crosshair V 990FX)
.
.
This is right after the switch over to the Crosshair V..
.
Reason for switching out... Can you spot it..??
.
For Scale...
.
I'm dumping the water box and putting these RADS into the case (HAF-X).
I've been lazy about it, mostly because i'm jumping ship from AMD and going Intel after what I saw my friends 4770K do to a FX-8350 first hand. So I figured i'd wait until I get the rest of the $1200.00 i'm throwing at it, and just put the RADS and the pump in when I do the switch over... Having Bills is no fun.
