rgreat, using your files and works a charm! Only difference is that I am using PostProcessing at LOW, all other in Very High. I think you get rid of the Motion Blur in cockpit with setting it OFF in game settings and in user.cfg the motion blur distance to 0, like these 2 commands. It is disabled in rgreat's user file already.
r_MotionBlur = 0
r_MotionBlurMaxViewDist = 0

Not unexpected for a third party change, so I removed everything and the game works again.
So if you aren't sure about it, give it a try and if something doesn't work just delete the files and clear the config.

I had not a single crash with SweetFX.
Seems like something on your end is conflicting with it.
Like mumble or some other application which can use MWO Direct3D surface.
Well, you are right. It is easy to remove.

I had nothing else running at all. I'm sure its not somthing that will effect everyone obviously, but it was the only variable to cause that crash, just letting people know its possible.
Edit: Also for whatever reason the two trial mechs in my home selection both said 'in-game' no idea what that was about.

Could try lowering the sharpening or use another pattern.
Just open the SweetFX_settings.txt and adjust the settings under LumaSharpen. You can do this while the game is running and reload the shaders with the "break" key.
I use this:

Maybe that is effect from MWO built-in film grain? Film grain + sharpening of SweetFX can produce results you describe.
I actually removed film grain in my complete package zip.
Alternatively you can search for stand alone film grain removal mod at forum.
