I'm almost afraid to say it, but I have come to fancy the Raven RVN-3L. Why? In what other light can you get 600 damage in one match?

So far, the one i use most and i'm most proficient at is my jenner JR7-F. On average I do about 400 dam, with some games as high as 600-700 dam. I've played with a hunchback, the Ilya, now with stalkers, but I still love my Jenner the most. Who needs armor when you rarely get hit? ;)

A good light mech pilot can do it will a skill-based light mech quite often. Its just easier to do it when you herp derp in a circle and hold down the SkillSRM key/clicker.

I am disappointed if I only get 300 damage and usually get 400-500 with some 600+ games in there using any of the 3 Jenners. Also a Jenner has a higher overall DPS, you just need a skilled pilot to make use of it. Jumpjet 180s then strafe is a great manoeuvre for breaking out of 3L circles and getting heaps of damage onto light mechs' legs. Legging a light mech is the easiest way to kill it.

This is pretty much what I'll be running unless I'm leveling something up.
Armament is pretty self explanatory from the picture.
Original design is mine, it used to have an AC-2 and two pulse lasers but I changed some parts and the order of them.

Being new to the game and given that I have much yet to explore, you may find this build silly but I actually love it.

I needed to fill out my RVN suite of mechs (started with a 3L) and came up with an oddity when I built an experimental 4X.

I carry an AC20 w/ 14 rounds and a small laser.

In fights, I hang back and let the heavier mechs start duking it out and then I rush in going "pew pew pew" with the small laser.

Typically, I get one look and then I am ignored. Who cares about a light with 1 baby laser right?

I get to the rear of the enemy mech and SURPRISE!

I only have a .59 K/D ratio with it but making components and arms fly off the big boys with the little buggar is quite gratifying.

I must say though, survivability is low. Way low. If any other lights single you out you're a goner.

So what do I want to be known for?
That.

That build elicits a lot of comments in chat (mostly disbelief).

Nope. I follow the whims of PGI.

Autocannon gets a projectile speed buff... mount them.
PPC can disrupt? Mount them. (Different mech).
Missile nerf? Shelve anything with a missile hardpoint.

Double XP weekend got me buying and leveling the non-ECM Cicada's and they are fun as heck. Laser lights are awesome in the land of nerfed streaks.

I am the Hunchback man

HBK-4SP

HBK-4P

Those are fairly uncommon builds for these mechs, but I do alright with them.

I actually run a different build on it now with 2 PPCs where the large lasers would be, 4 medium lasers where they normally are, and 4 streak 2s plus a lot of ammunition. i keep the 275,and can usually 1v1 anything short of an atlas.

I've played my Awesome 8Q the most. 4 PPCs, 2 medium pulse, enough DHS for a couple salvos and hiding for a few seconds, and a top speed of about 65 kph. It's a great 'mech :(

I run it with orange and red paint, with a nice big red spot on the CT daring other 'mechs to try and shoot me ;)

Dragons, Fang And Flame, Ilya, And now probably the Highlander. Anything that plays music when you get a kill is pure win.

Atlases in general, but it used to be a specific LRM carrier version before the changes to missiles (I had been using it long, long before missiles became bugged / OP):

Atlas D-DC w/ 3 x LRM15 (w/ Artemis), TAG, Gauss Rifle, MLaser, ECM, BAP

I drive several other Atlas variants too. I still love my old standby from before ECM, but I rarely run it because it is a layout that can't fit on a D-DC:

2x ERPPC, Gauss Rifle, 2x MLaser

Although I'm still fairly new to the game I can already tell my go to mech will be the hunchback 4SP. Its already completly mastered and with an additional 60k xp sitting on it with only a smidge over 400 battles total since I started....

Its my m4 sherman (WoT) of MW:O

Fairly standard build, not too out of the ordinary

2 - SRM6's with 4 tons ammo
5 - medium lasers
endo steel
DHS
and an uprated 215 std engine
max armor

its a great average mech IMHO .... could use slightly better heat efficiancy with currently 1.12 ...

I personally love the Hunchies, The brawling mediums are bad ***. Not to mention some of the cool builds. I love running my HBK-4P with my 9ML's. I melt fools if I get behind them. I also run a HBK-4G with some lasers and a gauss, more of a support/sniper roll, super fun if I can stick with a CTF or Atlas. My current build is the HBK-4J using 6 MPL's and 2 SSRMS and I forget which engine but I go 79kph, I sit on the flank of our team and wait for a light to run by and get owned, makes me laugh so hard everytime. I hate those little things.

Narcissistic_Martyr's FLAME

I do have an AC20 version as well for when I've got the XL in something else.

This is a tough one, but i am going to have to make two choices;

1. Atlas DDC - Twin PPC, Guass

2. Flame - 4 Medium lasers, AC10, SRM 6 (The ultimate brawler!)

Awesome with 2 ML 2 ALrms 15 and 2 streaks. Going for 66kph, killing all range targets or When my team needs complete dmg: awesome with 2 ER PPC 2 streaks and 3 MPL.

If I need CBills, I go with my Muromets.

Otherwise, I usually run my K2.
