Lrms Need A Nerf Now

This kind of thread pops up a lot, but it's not because missiles are the be all and end all.
You just need to use the cover mechanics properly, saying you got hit with LRM's 'miles away' is embarrassing.

They need something quick, even cover is becoming useless if you have no legs to move.
mostlikely we'll have to wait until april 2nd patch (until then I'm taking full advantage of it to famr me some easy CBills) I'll need them to get a direct fire mech after they nerf all the missiles into oblivion.

Ya thats what I am going to do, get the stalker out and load it up with LRM 15's.

Sorry, but splash damage or not, no light mech should be getting hit by LRMs unless they are doing something wrong, especially with so many light mechs sporting ECM. If you aren't getting hit, then what matter splash damage?
It -is- interesting that the devs put so much priority on fixing missile damage that can actually kill things, but refuse to lift a finger to adjust ECM. Apparently, it's only a problem if the LRMs work.

No
Atlas's are getting legged and headshot by missiles in general!

Its going to be LRM city until they fix this. Already in 5 drops I've run into full teams with LRM boats. I swear I even saw a raven chucking lrm's.

Well, considering how few times you actually get to use LRMs, they do need to have this kind of effect if they are going to be worthwhile to mount. I went through about ten rounds tonight, and I got to fire my LRMs in two or three. Rest of the time, I couldn't fire a shot because one person had ECM.
Why should I put 18 tons of my mech's payload into a weapon that isn't supposed to be able to kill anything, especially if I'm only going to be allowed to shoot it every third or fourth game?
I understand this is a bug, but the fact that you actually have people using LRMs again after such a period of time where mounting any LRMs at all was seen as a handicap to your team tells me they did something right. If they do get rid of the splash damage, then they need to do something else to boost LRMs to make up for the huge disadvantages they have imposed on the system throughout the game.
Won't happen, of course. People are blind to the number of barriers LRM users face in this game, and only see that they are actually being hurt by them.

Then you should look in the mirror.
Seriously, all I have ever seen since day one of Closed Beta is "LRMs are hurting me! Make the Devs stop them so I don't have to worry about them!". It gets -very- tiring to see the trolls from Counterstrike who simply cannot deal with anything but brawlfests get their way in this game.

When the missle boats are ending matches with over 1k damage consistantly then there may be a bit of a problem.

And LRMs shouldn't be affected in the least by ECM. But, that's what the devs have decided should be the ultimate immunity shield against LRMs, so that's what it is. Based on the fact that the devs are not going to change this, how else do you make LRMs worthwhile to mount on your mech except to make sure that the very few times you get to fire them, they -hurt- in direct proportion to the number of times other weapons get to be used?
The problem is that if you want LRMs to be on the level of other weapons, you need to make them on the level of other weapons. If you want LRMs to have monumental challenges to their use, then you have to accept monumental effects when they are used. Anything else is just nonsensical.
