I am really having a hard time with this one. Streaks+AC2 or AC5 is great on the A, and the S seems to be the best fit for dual AC20.

But I havent found a single actually practical loadout for the DD that isnt mediocre to unplayable.
If MG's were tolerable 6xMG, and dual ERPPC might be fun.... but they arent. They are utterly useless.

Yes I have tried 6xac2, its loads of fun, but not terribly effective.

That said I still have nearly 100k of gxp, so if no one has found a less crappy build for it, then Ill just get it to elite and move on.

I personally haven't found anything I like with it other than the look of the weapons. I'm putting mine under a tarp in the mech bay

I doubt anything can be done with 6 ballistics. (In fact, I doubt anything can be done with 4!) Wait for an MG buff maybe?

Are they still in denial about the whole critseeking thing?
Or have they actually acknowledged they need to do something?

There was a thread earlier where ppl were raging at Garth for dismissing someone's "triple the MG damage" idea haha.

Right now, I'm using a 260 xl whit almost max armor, endo, dhs, 2x MPL, 2x AC/2, 1/AC20. 3 tons of ammo for AC/2 and 4 tons for AC/20 I believe. Bleeding edge effective, no; but it is fun and useful at any range

Errr I want to believe you, but useful at any range? You only have an AC2 for long distances... any PPC/Gauss/Lurm boat would eat you for breakfast before you ever got close.

I want to find a good long/mid/short range build, but havent seen one I like yet. Unless im being overly critical of course.

The only thing I've been able to come up with that I was even remotely happy with the DD is 3 AC/2 with 5 tons of ammo and 2 Large Lasers using the stock 260 XL Works decent enough think I might try 6 AC/2 with a 200 XL engine to see what it does but I have a feeling the A and S are going to be the most useful as I didn't have any problems coming up with setups for those.

I'm currently running 3 Ultra AC/5's with 2 mlas. Stock 260XL engine. 368 armour (removed from legs). Room for 8 tons of UAC5 ammo and just the base 10 DHS, but heat isn't too much of an issue.

Best round I had tonight was around 880 dmg with 4 kills. Potential is definitely there but I did notice a lot of side torso XL engine deaths.

Um, this could work as a sniper type build:
JM6-DD

The MGs may just be there to fill the hardpoints but they should get crits once the PPCs strip the armour. 6xAC2 would be amazing but it would be either hot, slow, badly armoured or poorly supplied with ammo.

just started today with the DD. Even if its not that special build this chassis is rlly nice for dual Ac20. It can run at >70kph easy and still has enough room for AMS or 2 ML and 42 rounds + etra armor. Also its great to do 40 alpha overhead for shooting up and down hills. I was happy to see that this chassis can do that well on battlefield even without all the rings and bells when fully upgrading this chassis. The jaeger feels rlly new in terms of uniqueness as its more like a fast AntiTankCannon. I had most fun pairing up with an ecm atlas and just roll half of the enemy together.

6 AC/2, epic dakka, works pretty fine but you have to care cause of the low amount of armor :)

JM6-DD Ac10 x2 MG x4 ML x2

And

JM6-DD UAC5 x2 MG x4 LL x2

And for giggles

JM6-DD LB 10x x2 MGx4 MPL x2

I don't have the DD yet(just the A and S) so they're just theorycraft, but I think they'd be somewhat effective.

I stripped it down, and put 6 AC/2s on it. Useful? No. Incredibly gratifying to lay down an endless barrage of AC/2 fire on a chain? Yes. Oh yes.

I've seen a (5) AC/2 with a XL260 and nearly max armor (except legs) been used to great effect. 600+ damage consistently. 10 damage a salvo, 20 damage a second? Yes please.
Heat is the biggest concern (AC/2s are really hot), followed by the apparent Jagermech's magnetism for LRMs

I tried both 2x UAC/5 + 4 MG and 2x AC/2 + 4 MG with large lasers and didn't like either one. Which is why I came up with the one I was talking about above 3 AC/2 and 2 LL worked really good with the stock engine and heat wasn't too bad.

JM6-DD 3 AC/2 2 LL Stock Engine

Here's the only other setup I've left to try which I still need to get some cbills up to set it up. Not sure how it will work, it will be slow, have decent armor but heat could be a serious issue if dakka'ing all 6 AC/2's at once.

JM6-DD 6 AC/2

Rcksteady: I tried 5 AC/2 with the stock motor but it ran out of ammo too quick and was like paper. I did retweak my design for the 6 AC/2 for 5 with a bigger motor and more ammo so I might give 5 AC/2s a try again.

JM6-DD 5 AC/2

Running mine right now with 4x UAC/5. It's a pretty delicious build. The "A" is by far my favorite so far. 2x LB10X and 4x SRM4 means epic birdshot mech.

Try dual gauss. If you can aim and realize you're too squishy to brawl, you'll find it easy to score kills with. Sacrificing 2 tons of ammo allows you to mount machine guns which are not as nice as small lasers, but get the job done.

what do you have the rest of your UAC/5 setup? I couldn't figure out one that didn't completely gimp the rest of it (Like right now I'm sitting with a setup with a XL 200, 352 armor, 4 UAC/5's and 5 tons of ammo).

JM6-DD 4 UAC/5

Best I could come up with for quad UAC's.
