you are kidding right? jesus h christ on a stick, the legs were NOT the problem.. People would AIM for the legs because it was the only thing you could reliably hit.

This is patently false, and it's a big reason why folks thought the raven was so hard to kill.

The legs were, easily, the worst possible target on the raven. Smart pilots aimed for the side torsos, because they were trivially easy to hit compared to every other part of the mech.

If you are serious then I dont even know what to say.. THe MOST Documented problem in the game and you fix something else..

Please tell me you are joking

I think the reason people always went after the legs was that they were more reliable to hit, but from personal experience I found it's fairly easy to miss shots because they went between those thin chicken legs. It was a case of the lesser evil.

A lot of people screaming about how a known bug on all mechs is to do with this mech when it happens on this mech because I hate this mech is not 'well documented'. If you have links to some actual documentation of the issue I would be interested in seeing it.

Edit:

My impression so far is something is still off. I was playing a CTF-3D with ER PPC/Gauss and happened to be on top of a building on Frozen City. A brawl between my team and 3 RVN-3Ls happened around the building below me. I had a bunch of easy shots which I took and hit with negligible damage resulting. Someone watching me even commented on how I missed at least 3 dead on alpha strikes with no real damage.

By going for the side torsos you often get the damage you did spread all over though from ST to CT and the arm. One hit with an ERPPC can sometimes show as damage on all 3 of those areas, and as a scratch on all of them. That's why I started leghunting as when I hit the damage went all to one leg.

To be honest, my observations are that this is more of a problem with the PPC than the Raven hitboxes. There are quite a few reports indicating that the PPC has a non-pinpoint impact, which is not exclusive to the Raven as a target, although it's specific geometry may make it more prone, in a similar way as the Commando's specific hitbox geometry makes it more prone to manifesting the Splash Damage bug.

PPCs are not optimal for legging a Raven. With that said, Ravens are hard to leg sometimes, so I could see the impact. I was driving my 3L and was taking a bit more pain.. but I think complete state rewind (at least for projectiles) will help out the situation.

i would like to further add tho, if they arent running an xl in either a raven or stalker, going through one side torso make both chasis very tough and durable. I only recently discovered that ,if Im interpreting everything correctly, once you have destroyed a side torso, there is still a phantom torso there that mitigates damage to ct.
So, even after torso is destroyed , your ac10 does not do 10 damage traveling through destroyed torso on its way to ct.
This to me is counter intuitive, and its their , as far as I know, unique hitbox locations that make both of these mechs so popular.

Imo, both side torsos should expose more of the CT beak on the raven and stalker.. Hell if i drove either, i would always be facing the enemy right?

I run a raven with an AC20. best record was 5 kills 3 assists and over 500 damage.

Yeah, I can whoop people with a raven with no ECM.

My best game was 6 kills, 2 assists in my erppc 4X.

In fact I started uploading gameplay videos to show everyone that the 4X was a viable mech compared to the 3L.

However, in every single game I have played since this new patch I have lost one or both of my legs.

I have recorded EVERY game I have played since the patch came out, and the VERY BEST game I have ever played I score 1 kill and 3 assists, and got legged.

EVERY GAME I HAVE PLAYED I LOST AT LEAST LEG.

EVERY ******* GAME.

THIS **** IS NOT RIGHT.

I feel like I am playing mechwarrior 4...

And why for ***** sake, is this stupid forum refusing to embed videos now?

So ******* frustrated with this game right now.
