if they implement it, it will kill the game, and harm PGI because the backlash alone with be huge. They are risking financial ruin purely because a significant portion of Founders will demand all monies paid into them back based on false advertising. They are also shattering a key design pillar. Fare Well MechWarrior Online, you HAD potential, but it was tossed away by a caustically fatally bad choice.

The game hasn't changed for me at all with the coolant being around. And in less than 24 hours we're getting a hotfix for the missile bug. A twitter screenshot doesn't confirm anything either.

And as for the paid MC thread? It's no better than this one. Constructing massive panicky threads based off of 1 line of rumor won't get us anywhere useful. When they release real information, feel free to discuss how it sucks, but wait until we have details and not rumors.

Actually that doesn't seem like it would be an issue and could just work with the systems that determine what we can target. Well I guess beyond telling things to start rendering or or stop client side maybe, but that shouldn't be a big deal.

I like my cockpit view, and I'll be piloting from the pilot seat. And I'll still have a good time hunting people when they switch to 3rd person.

The advantage of 3rd person is not just seeing the enemy around corners and so forth. It is also being able to see the terrain around you. It give you a massive advantage of situational awareness when it comes to moving. The only way to block that would be to not render nearly all the screen. that would be horrid.

You people fail to understand the simple concept that every single thing being developed for this game is to mirror World of Tanks. EVERY SINGLE THING. Why? Because it is successful and they have no idea what they are doing so they are trying to follow a successful business model in a similar genera. Look at the things that they have released so far:

Premium Mechs/Tanks /// Check
Premium Camo for Mechs/Tanks /// Check
Premium Colors for Mechs/Tanks /// Check
Consumables that can be purchased with both Non Premium and Premium Currency (that's coolant flush btw) /// Check
Purchase Non Premium Currency with Premium Currency (buying for MC and selling for Cbills) /// Check
Transferring Exp to Global Exp /// Check

Cmmon now...3rd person mode is just the next natural progression for this clone

Notice how the forum isn't inundated with posts about coolant after it's been in use for a while. There aren't even any coolant threads on the first page. Nobody's fighting it because it's not that useful. I hope you don't run out of meme pictures to use, lil' Thirdstar.

There is a massive difference in game play design. What you listed was a business and economic design, not gameplay design.

I never said I planned to quit any time soon. But if you don't think I'm going to fight bad game design decisions every step of the way, you're dead wrong.

As I stated before, there is no credibility to PGI anymore. Just think back the promises made.

  • No 3rd Person
  • Clan Invasion timeline
  • Among many other things in the supposed "Roadmap"

How can we take a "professional company" as PGI serious? Where is their integrity?

Threads like this can be reactionary and alarmist, but ideally they show the community and the developers beyond a shadow of a doubt that players feel strongly about many aspects of the game, and the game as a whole. There are many who couldn't really care one way or another as long as they can shoot big stompy mechs with their big stompy mechs, but those who are passionate will do their best to constructively criticize and encourage the growth of the game, and the developers should recognize this. This isn't baseless hate-mongering. The soft touch isn't working, so people are going to go in strong and harsh. People want to see this game flourish and become the best it can be. I want to see it happen too.

Then fight it, don't fight me, I basically said the same thing you did except I'll accept it if they ultimately go live with it.

Just think about it, more new people to shoot at in the long run.
