You aren't aware of the implications that Third Person has, such as with Knockdowns. A high speed mech will dramatically improve its piloting abilities with the use of Third Person by giving it additional peripheral vision. Can you imagine all those Dragons slamming into mechs like guided cruise missiles? Or all those Ravens dancing around the map without a care in the world?

your past experience with mechwarrior is irrelevant, this is a multiplayer game and for the people playing first person it would be extremely unfair to let you do this:

A logical assessment of what PGI has done in the past would show anyone who cared to bother that, in fact, there have been no tactical advantages given by MC purchases. In fact, where a perceived tactical advantage arose, changes were made to eliminate it at the community's request.

Evidence thus providing precedent, the assumption proceeds that the company would seek to provide a system that does NOT provide a tactical advantage. Including discussion of the professionalism of releasing information in that manner, and the implications thereof, as well as discussion about the shape MWO would take if 3POV was implemented - both of these are directly relevant to MWO and ergo this should remain in General Discussion.

I never said I wanted third person in the game. I've said a few times I don't want it, but as well a twitter post made by an anonymous PGI employee doesn't actually confirm we're getting it.

Do yourself a favor and stop consulting him on everything, it makes you look bad. I never implied anything other than what I actually typed. I said I don't want third person because it ruined past games. If we share the opinion it's fine and dandy, but he's just as annoying as I am to you.

Prior to that twitter post the official line on 3POV was "We're not doing it."
As of that twitter post, the official line on 3POV is now "Probably soon."

"Not doing" -> "Sure enough we're doing it to say probably soon"

If it's just some moron giving his own misplaced assumptions/guesses then he shouldn't be on the official feed.

Also, just as a thought exercise, consider this. We might be agreeing with Vass....wait for it....because we happen to agree with him. My opinion is that 3POV is ******* moronic for a game of this type, and that at best the Twitter post and trolling in this thread are seriously unprofessional At best. That happens to coincide with what Vass is saying on those subjects. Thus, we agree.

Ahem. Not sure how much clearer I could have been. I mean the majority of people in this thread. Which has been up ~5.5hrs.

Also, just as a thought exercise, consider this. We might be agreeing with Vass....wait for it....because we happen to agree with him.
