I still don't understand where these great numbers of people who can't play without 3rd person are hiding. Conventions? What conventions? PGI doesn't even have a presence at PAX.

That is the next thing I am waiting for - torso lock.

A button to lock torso and feet to the same direction, to totally control a mech using typical COD FPS controls.

Not that this would be a bad thing - they had this option since at least '91 at Virtual World. There was actually a toggle next to the left handstick in the Tesla Pods that switched between basic and advanced control modes. Of course in the Tesla pods most mechs had 360o twist angle, and you had to control torso twist with the foot pedals...

No you cannot. I am very fat and my heavy sweating make me slippery so you could get no good grip.
but I don't have a fascination for pastel hair and androgynous characters so it still makes me more manly
than the anime fans.

Maybe they, like every mildly succesfull games developer, are allready aiming for world domination/console market. 3rd person is a must there. Does Dust514 have 3rd person?

3/10, I liked the fat and sweaty part but the generalizing part is stale

Ok every Week i play MWLL and MWO together but in the last weeks MWLL much more than MWO and after the last patch i think i would play MWO not again for a while.

PGI only wants our best, our money we are in an ******* Beta we are Founders and Closed Beta testers and we have to pay for every ******* little ****, Camos, Heromechs, XP Change.

Ok PGI you can make the Game you want but i am not playing it any more.

I can't name a single popular FPS that primarily uses third person in this day and age. That's kinda the whole point. First person shooter.

CoD, battlefield, planetside, and so on, where you have vehicles, will sometimes (not always) have third person for some or all vehicles.

No, over-the-shoulder puzzle/action games (gears, mass effect, deadspace...) aren't in the same genre. This is strictly to make the game more like WoT. There's no one who'd come back to the game 'because MW fan but only in 3rd person, please Paul!' and even if there are, these people weren't willing to pour 5 million into PGI's pockets.

Very well, my mistake. It's nearly 6am, and I read it wrong. The case still is that it's a veiled white knighting reference, and unto itself is cause for dismissal of an argument.

Well sometimes I can be wrong. Besides, not all anime is feminine and disturbing. You got manly stuff like my favourite anime mech:

Please for the love of everything good in the Universe. Do not make 3rd person please. Do not even waste time developing third person. You will lose a good number of loyal fans. This is the best Mech Warrior title revival to date and do not screw it up with a 3rd person view. Please.

It would be nice if they did as someone has mentioned in this thread and only let people use that view in training. Sadly I think they want to go 3 rd person view so they can sell more cammos and stuff like that.

I don't really get that. You pain your toons in games so others can see it. Candy pink Asura in Guild Wars 2? Its only so you can be killed by a Candy pink little nugget.

Yeah I have posted it several times before. Some people say that the show is not over before the fat lady sings. I'll say that this game is not over before you meet that monstrosity in the cash shop.
