Ok, so I have read 85% of the posts and here is what I see/think/believe...Bear with me here
ALL of the players have something they don't like about the game, me included, there are some things that should change/be fixed.
ALL of the players are feeling like they are being duped and that they have spent real money for something and they now have nothing.
Ok...Remember that this is business! Big business actually. PGI/IGP, I love typing that, are only beholden to their investors, period! They are going to tell everyone what they can to keep them coming back and playing/paying for stuff. You ignore this fact to your own peril...
No changes are made without massive outcry... and by a community of players that stick together to show both their disappointment and their adulation. Without that, PGI/IGP will continue to tell YOU one thing while working on what their investors want, which is money plain and simple.
We, the players, keep coming back and play, on the off chance that PGI/IGP is going to do what they tell us they are going to do...So far, they have not, but we, the players are a gullible bunch, we believe in the game and how it COULD be, and we keep coming back and spending money, no matter how small, to keep the game fun for us. THEY, lay back and say to them selves, what can we spin this week to keep them coming back?
Hate on it all you want, but this is the basis of all big business, keep them spending money on our product without giving them what they want or giving them something that is cheaper and makes us more money. Keep the investors happy first, then if we can sneak something in, then they will keep coming back.
I keep coming back. I really enjoy THIS game, at least right now. I want to see it succeed as much as the next fanatic, and I am guilty of spending real money on this game, and being disappointed when PGI/IGP, see I told you I like typing that, goes back on what they said to us. But the truth is, I am a gamer, of sorts, and I will keep coming back and playing because the game CAN be great. We just have to take what is happening in context. Remember, we do not pay their salaries, the investors do, and the person signing the check is WAY more important that the person on the other side of the keyboard.
Ok, let the boyish night poundings begin...
