The one last thing is the CASE. A lot of people don't bother with it, and I don't know if it fits this design all that well. If you suffer an ammunition explosion, the mech survives, but you lose your side torso. And since your ammunition was all in that torso, you AC/20 is no longer usable, meaning all you have left are a pair of medium pulse lasers.

Head ammunition gets used first, so it is almost never an issue, and by keeping ammunition in the legs, you pretty much nullify the risks of the ammunition explosion. If you are taking critical hits to the leg - then you are probably on the verge of losing the leg already - so it is unfortunate, but not that huge a deal, since you will probably be alright after (albeit legged).
Again, though, it is totally up to you and how you want to do it.

One other idea -
Normal Medium Lasers are about 80% as effective as Medium Pulse Lasers for DPS, but at half the tonnage - making them one of the best value weapons in the game. If you consider switching, you can get to a bigger engine with more heat efficiency:
