how exactly does the heat vision change in any way effect ballistic use???

It doesn't, directly. The new heat vision is limited to something like 700-750 meters. He was equating ballistics and snipers as if every sniper relied on ballistics or every ballistic weapon was for sniping, or that sniping was only possible with HV. Though the last is semi-accurate on some of the maps....

Damage reduction is a temporary thing to fix everybody dying to missiles. It'll likely be raised back when splash is fixed.

Who says they know how to fix splash in a timely manner?
I would not bet any real money on this.

Is it surprising, really?

People still don't know, even to this day, about engine double heat sinks! And it's been discussed to death on the forums. There are a trillion posts on that topic, and that's only the ones I made!

They are dropping them to .7 damage? BAHAH! Well, that was out of left field.

They HAVE dropped them to .7 damage already, that was (part of) the hotfix.

So don't use missiles. Check.

That's a bit knee-jerk. LRMs still kill 'mechs, they're just not THE go-to weapon any more.

It'd be an improvement over AC40 warrior online, which it is now with the Jagermech out.

K2 is still the better AC40, the jager might get mothballed here once people realize both the Cats are better

I know, lets create a weapon system with quite a few counters in the game that people can use and neuter their damage to bhutt hurt even more people on the forums because some people don't like being rained on from 1000m away.

Perhaps it's an April fools, but I wouldn't rely on anyone up there having a sense of humuor. Maybe if they banned me again. That would be a tragic comedy of sorts.. Many sad clowns would riot.

I'm behaving though momzy. I swear.

There are quite a few temporay removals that seem to be permanent until the far future.

they have been at 0.7 damage for about a week now

Torsos harder to kill than arms.

That's about all I need to choose K2 over Jager.

I was surprised at the TERRIBLE vertical aiming of the Jager. It's supposed to be an AA Mech and it can barely look up at a cliff.

Those arms are supposed to be able to bsaically almost shoot straight up.

The Go-To weapon now is driect fire, low weight, infinate ammo and who cares about Heat Weapon.

You can P2W heat out of the equation.

No, splash is likely to be removed as planned, while damage is returned to normal (probably 2 for srms and 1 for LRMs).

I think that's a little low for their weight plus ammo reqs. I think 2.4 and 1.2 with no splash would be about right. the problem is without splash that LRMs are homing in on the CT. They need a system that makes the LRMs target different body parts and have artemis increase this favorably a bit, but not so much it's a no brainer.

OP is ********. An AC 20 is the perfect situation if you were gonna brawl, gauss rifles are good at all ranges and same with Ultras. Ballistics are all good for short range combat, this is Yet Another Missile Whiner Thread since they take no skill and it' what makes trash feel good when they can kill someone with no skill. I'm guessing he's whining about ballistics to gain some sympathy from them.. .but what this tard doesn't understand is ballistics take skill since it is a shot to hit, rather than a continual laser or a no skill 1 button auto aim skill like missiles. Honestly, even making this thread is an embarrassment. And FFS, go read patch notes you insanely inept whiner.

I don't think they will remove the splash damage effect on April 2nd with the recent hot fix to missile damage and how splash damage works. I just don't think it's outright removal is needed now.

Whats the max range on the AC20? I don't think the heat vision max is going to do much vs. the AC20.
