3/30/2013 @ 9:30 PST.

We play a match than get 4 - 5 failed to finds. This looks grim for PGI. If you are forced to play with pugs just to play the game they are going to lose people.

A false choice is no choice at all.

Saturday nights always been slow for 8mans ime. Not to say we're not losing some beta testers, because I'm sure quite a few people are taking breaks, but a Sat night isn't a great indicator imo.

While not for everyone, it is Easter weekend and thus some people are spending time with family/friends. Certainly not the only reason.

For any game to be so slow that we are having trouble finding a few groups of 8 IS something to worry about. It is basically a death toll for the game IMO. Since you can get on to games that are 10 years old and find groups.

Plain and simple: There is no excuse for less than a dozen 8 mans to be playing at any point in time.

If your 8man-team got problems against this setup you should seriously start to train...

We personally run quad 2s in our drop decks and do run into alot of "heavier" drops but that doesn'e insure a loss. It does insure a challenge. And every major competitive league is in 8 mans. So they certainly are the only objective way to judge your piloting skills.

You're right. My 8man-team won 23/27 games while drinking 1 shot (mostly vodka) while launching, one per win. The point is, you just have to train x) We're mostly dropping with max. 500t and 3 ECM (rule for our events).

Btw. I ninjaaaaa this thread:
Sorry for all that faced us during tuesday-night (UTC+1). Maybe we were a little bit... rough :P

Soooo sick of 2/2/2/2....having brawler tendencies, the 3/3/1/1 is my personal favorite :P

KDR doesn't mean squat when you drop against pugs man. U know that. Everyone knows that. Its the equal of measuring your height against children.

But we have been trying to drop all night and only succeeding 1 out of 5 matches. the issue is the overall lack of 8 mans in this game. what good is a game if you can not get a group AND what good is a multiplayer game if you dont get to play with your friends? This game is quickly becoming pointless.

That's why we usually just set up scrimage nights, or do 8v8 in-house....avoids all those "scary" 5xDDC+3x3Ls too...lulz....OMG I love facing that composition. Get some friends...8 more to be precise

Edit: and this game has been pointless since....well...it's big stompy robots, that's about it :P

If my memory serves JW has challenged every group to scrims whenever they are on. We do in house 8 rotations alot but that doesn't mean that the main point of this game (to be able to get on and drop with friends) isn't broken. If you can not use any setting on the game than there is a problem IMO.

8 Mans:

Wait 20 mins for everybody to join up and talk **** about the game.

Wait 20 mins for everyone to tweak their build in the mech-bay.

Wait 20 mins while the game "fails to find match"

Result:

1 hour wasted.

We setup our scrims days ahead of time. The other night when you poked me, we had already been running 8s for about 5 hours and had just finished up some synch scrims. Given the nature of our relationship, I didn't think synching at that point while cycling out our tired core and fun running to wrap up the night was in our best interest....ya know, with all the goat speak and what not..lol :P While not enemies, you guys aren't exactly on our favorite peoples list ya know

depending on the ppl. not saying everyone. but us in particular have all our 8man builds already set up and rdy to go at all times. some ppl don't i understand that. everyone runs things differently and don't want to spend money on mech bays or don't have the time to put in the game to have the cbills to fit all the mechs needed and/or all the components needed to have all the mechs fit out at the same time.

It's not the set up time that gets in our way. Mainly we are always ready to drop 8s. Its the failed to find matches that are the irritation.

I've (and JW) has had an open scrim invitation with QQ for weeks now. Maybe you should take to your leaders and ask them why they are not setting up scrims with competition teams when they have the opportunity. That is not my concern. Just stating that the invite has been there since early January.

That being said when we 8 man scrim it is only serious if we want it to be. Many clans/corps will agree that most of our scrims are for practice and all in good fun. Just because we have a game face doesn't mean we always wear it. It is a game after all.
