Crashing while using night vision. Not all the time but randomly and enough to be consistently using new night vision.

Do not have NVIDIA card, I have Radeon.

Just had a drop where the arm indicator is FULL left or doesnt move at all. Also had a teammate that had the assault map on a conquest drop.

I have seen a noticeable drop in performance from last patch. before i would get 40-50 FPS, now its down to 20-30s. most GFX set to high. additionally my game has crashed 2 times right after finishing a match

this crash seems to be random. played a couple more rounds and no crash


my system is

win 7 x64
nvidia geforce GTX 460M
intel I7 950
6 gig ram

Ive had issue with graphics glitches in the game since patch. You line up to aim a shot and your beck swings 45 degrees so its looking all the way to the side or to the rear of what you were facing before. When you have a frame rate above 60 and a ping below 80 you should have a pretty smooth game but it does not seam that way. since the last patch its verry jumpy.

Crashed while using heat vision. Also, heat vision deactivated itself after some time and I have to press the button two times. The first time, it sets it back while already being in normal view, the second time, it reactivated heat vision. After a certain amount of pressing "H", my game crashes. This is reproducable. Using heat vision more often, leads to crashes. Numbers may vary.

crashed twice for no reason... Night Vision and Heat turn off on it's own periodically and now my mech is stuck in game. Rebooted my PC and it's still in game a half hour later.

3 games two crashes to desktop and one stuck in match for more than 10minutes after we won.

Oh forgot to add on my 1st post. Imusing Nvidia 306.97 drivers. (no im not updating cuz many of the newer version have perofmrance issues or bugs for other games.

In the Patch notes, they note you should be using the most updated version of Nvida drivers, since that is what the dev team is using with minimal issues. hope this helps

1st game went ok ...liked the new thermal. After match was over I checked my score then hit exit match. Poof client gone back to desktop. This is really gonna slow things up.

did you not read it happening to both amd and nvid. so it not a driver issue it a QandA issue.

Copy that.
Game freezes at end of game and only way to leave is ESC / leave match.

As you can see, in the middle of the match - one where I had no map nor minimap (only the grid, in a fixed point).

Just going to tag this on here, blackscreen issue seems to be affecting a lot of people, maybe some of the logs posted in thread will be of use to devs? (alt tabbing rapidly appears to fix the bug, for some, posting link anyway because im going to sleep soon and the thread will probably be long gone by morning.)

I'm able to log-in. That's about it (since the new patch on 4.2.2013). After one partially successful match (game was over, but it didn't exit to the summary screen; had to quit match, and even then the mech was left "in match" for about 5 minutes), I have not been able to successfully play a game match. The match will load, I'll see the pre-game who's on what team screen, and then either before the game starts, or within 30 seconds of the game starting, I'm booted out of the game. No error. No warning. I'm kicked back to the main MWO client home/mech selection area. The CLIENT itself doesn't crash completely back to desktop often, but once in awhile it has shown this behavior w/ a windows error: "The MWO.exe has stopped responding" error. That DOES crash me back to desktop w/ MWO completely crashed.

  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
Originally, nothing. However, after a few failed attempts to play, I tried dropping my graphic settings within the game menu options. I dropped it from VERY HIGH to just HIGH. It doesn't matter. The crashes and inability to play thru a match continue regardless.
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
The crash and inability to play continue to happen regardless what I seem to do.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
My video settings, after the new patch, were the same as prior to the patch. The only changes I have made are thru the game client option menu to increase, or decrease, the video settings option from VERY HIGH to HIGH to NORMAL etc. I'm using the LATEST 314.22 drivers from nVidia. I'm running 2x EVGA GTX 670 in SLI w/ using the nVIDIA control panal to force my drivers to only use ONE GRAPHICS CARD when playing MWO. I did this because trying to play MWO in SLI is an absolute fail (not a current option).

Just for the record, doing a complete client reinstallation apparently fixed my CTD issue. At least I just had two matches without crash, which is two more than before.

Game is, once again, unplayable. 4 out of 6 matches hard lock requiring task manager to shut down the game. I don't give a damn about new mechs or cockpit trinkets. Just fix the game.

Answer: No crash , just a game that stays ingame after the battle ends.

This however isn't a HANG or CRASH of the application, it seems more like it is waiting for something to happen.
I can't look at my score of that match , i can however goto the menu and select: Options / Quit Match / Exit Game.

Clicking the Quit match puts you back into the Mechlab / Home base.
