-Still crashing to mechlab at random times with no error messages

-Maxed settings @ 1680x1050, no vsync (performance is fine and changing to low didn't help) and an unmodified user.cfg

-I installed new video drivers today because I was running the nvidia 311s...doesn't have an effect on my problem

-I'm not reinstalling this game again. I've done it twice before and it never fixes anything

I now have pings ranging 30-100 ms all over the place up and down (before patch would be solid 30)
I am warping and teleporting. I have gone clear across the map. (was at boat and then back at base)
Sitting still, with no input, my view suddenly moves 30 degress left or right.
Press zoom and it zooms 60 seconds later
Fire ballistics and it fires 60 seconds later(Lasers fire properly)
Out of bounds shows for 3 seconds and then disappears even though I am in middle of map
can't "R" targets but then they get aquired 30-60 seconds later
missiles wont lock on the target.

Totally screwed up.

Random complete crash of client directly back to desktop much more often. 1 in 10 games now. No error message. Is there a reason that you can't rejoin the match you were in before a crash? Not that you'd be alive, but it would be nice.

It almost made me want to break out the black lights and throw my hands in the air.

Updated NVidia drivers to version 314.22 because of the note about drivers. Now I crash to desktop about 1 or 2 minutes into a match. Never had this problem before the patch or driver update. Disappointing. Not a slap but this is the worst patch I have experienced so far for this game. I love the game and buy MC ($90 so far) but this is a turn off. No other changes to settings. Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX. Occurs in match each time - no other indication.

Ok,

The matches are now keeping mechs locked up? After the last enemy was killed the game locked up and the mechs were not released. :P

Game is currently unplayable - while I have time to play. Frustrating, worst patch to date.

Is anyone NOT crashing to desktop since installing this patch? I have not had a single completed match without CTD since the patch.

I've been experiences crashes to desktop without warning or error since the patch. It has happened at least 5 times today. I can't quite determine what causes it as its happened while in the midst of battle, walking towards a cap point and spectating another player after death. After the first couple crashes I updated my Catalyst software to version 13.1. The crashes continue to occur after the update.

UPDATE!!!!! @ 10:21 PM EST....

Anyone having on-going issues w/ the game client since the patch....primarilly not being able to play the game:

- I highly recommend a full game uninstall, then reinstall it (download new client from the MWO website here; do NOT use prior client DL, as those may be corrupted or unstable now).

My game client wasn't playable at all after the latest patch. A full uninstall, and reinstall, DID FIX MY ISSUES!

As of this post, I've played over 5 games w/o ANY issues, and I have ALL graphic options turned to VERY HIGH. I even had music playing in the background on media player, and the game had no issues.

I've been playing for 4 months and have never CTD until now. I was in the middle of my first match today on frozen city night. During the match I was taking back theta point while firing at a raven who was near the cap but not on it. I pressed C key then I CTD. My game and system settings are the same. I also launch the game client from steam to use the overlay, but I never used it during the match, Shift+Tab.

On a side note, my mini map and top nav that shows torso twist were stuck in place at zero degrees.

Game froze. Still able to look around in the match, and my teammates are all running in place.


-No error message.

-In game. Assault match Touramline desert.

-Game ran normally, until the moment I typed an all chat message. Typed out an all chat message, and the game froze when I hit enter. (The timer no longer displays in game, but the match was almost over at the time of the bug)

-Update: Was not able to repeat the bug in my next game. (though the 2nd game was on a different map)

-Video settings are all low and anti-aliasing is off, have not changed them. (co-incidentally, game was running excellent prior to the freeze. Got as high as 70 fps with averages of 60)

-System specs:
Windows 7 64-bit
AMD Athalon II X3 440 Processor 3.00Ghz
ATI Radeon HD 4800 series (driver version: 8.970.100.7000)
4GB Ram

Same - I'm crashing to desktop 1/3 games, no errors, nothing, jjust game closes and back to the desktop for me. Drivers are up to date.


Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  • None
Where in the game or menus did the crash
  • Randomly in a match, always in the middle of a battle.
What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
  • It seemed to trigger most often when I'd go to fire a weapon. I'd click the button to fire, and boom, CTD.
Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
  • It happened in maybe 33% of my matches, following the above conditions.
What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  • My video settings are the same as before, a mix of High and Ultra.
What are your System specs?

I am getting frequent crash to desktop as well. No error messages, and have updated to the latest Nvidia driver.

Having the same problem. Will try out suggested alternative method thanks.

I have the same specs as Zealander, I tried full-windowed mode, I am still crashing out, and I am also getting the deadly triangles of doom. Please advise.

Playing in a group my name appears on the roster but no mech details.
Ping time is the same 286 ms.
I have played in one game and in that game it was conquest, when I was capping it was capping for the other team .

After 20 mins still waiting to get my Mech Raven 3l back from the game, friends are saying that I am still in a match.
I kicked from the game and am still waiting to log back in, the delay is really bad.

more stuttering
and now Im starting to CTD no idea why tho fighting havin fun then boom hello desktop...
