Edit: I don't think that would be viable even if it is possible as the extra AC's will mean you'd have to strip so much armour to fit them, or drop the engine size which would leave it too vulnerable. If you want the Cataphract to have more staying power just dropping LB 10 x for a second U-AC5 will give you an extra two tons of ammo... but then you have the no CASE issue.

So why would you put 4 AC/5s in anything?

But yeah you might get 3 AC/5s, but it's going to cost more then 2 medium lasers.

(And nope, I'm not in beta.)

You can put 3 ac5s, about 60 rounds, and 2 MLs, case, and max out armor.
Actually, I am iffy of the case. I am figuring it to be one ton, but than may very due to ammo placement.

I used an XL engine, dropped the jump ability some. Ferro armour.
3 x ultra AC5
4 x medium lasers
10 double heat sinks

I don't think double heat sinks are going to be in the game till next year. Same with FF armor. I could be wrong though, so don't quote me on that.
That seems like a pretty nasty build though.

Equipment:
Standard and Endo-Steel Internal Structures
Standard and XL Fusion Engines
Jump Jets
Standard and Double Heat Sinks
Standard and Ferro-Fibrous Armour
CASE
Just FYI
On a related note, if all the changes people are suggesting are possible in the mechlab, then what's the difference between a battlemech and an omnimech in MWO?

Also lets not forget about Gauss guys. You dont need Case with Gauss... no ammo explosions.

Omnimechs will probably not have limited hardpoints as we have been repeatedly informed that people wouldn't accept any wait to customise mechs. At the moment people are saying that it is imperative that all map details have to be known before you finalise your mech design for each match. Aparently it's not "fun" or proper to be unable to optimose your mechs to suit each individual match. Anyone who argues otherwise is accused of being a dice rolling fanatic who is incapable of understanding how to play online games and should go back to their hex maps and leave computer games to those who truly understand them.

7 tons for internal structure
3 tons for cockpit
8 tons for armor
3 tons for gyro
9 tons for a 210 rated engine.
That's without any Lostech at all. It'd be slow and not well armored, but it can fit.
