Having said that, I'm sure any system can be exploited, but for CW, it would require something on a large scale and some weird form of meta.
Don't think it will take much testing at all.

This is a bit of a risk PGI is running though, since they made MC and Cbills not reset. If community warfare contains methods to generate cbills or MC they need to be very careful with early on exploits since they cant run a simple wipe to clean up the mess.

Wait ... aren't we the BETA?
So the answer is: Sept 21 minus Release Date of CW = Time CW is in Beta?

Well I think they have an internal beta testing group but I have no idea how much they have done with the CW system given likely small numbers.

It's a safe guess, but It's not a long testing period for a core mechanic if you ask me.
Agreed. There must be some super hot, on the ball people involved in the internal testing. I mean nothing slipped through the last time .

Yeah, what happens if they just release without much real testing and people's real money becomes at stake i.e. the proposed MC income for CW?

Get results for "planet"
If Wins >200 then
Set value "purple"
set modifier "MarikCBillBouns" + 10%
Else
Set value "blue"
set modifier "SteinerCBillBouus" +10%
End If
Requery
Or something like that.
typo is intentional as there is your bug to blow the forums up with.

Software Development doesn't work that way. You generally don't fix *every* bug you know about for many reasons. The only time you really don't deploy, based upon your schedule, is when something is a show stopper. It's got to be *really* bad not to release your code on schedule.
Why? Cause generally your code is a moving freight train, with different people in the process jumping on / off different cars at different times. Stopping the entire train cause the window in car 37 just broke is generally not an option. Likewise, stopping the train cause a bunch of windows are broken, and some seat covers are trashed, and the water fountain in car 6 and 16 don't work, is likewise generally not an option.
Most bugs are known before release. Sometimes, new one crop up once your code is in the wild, but those are rare. Unintended consequences? that happens a lot, but completely new, never seen before, omg where the heck did that come from bugs? Not very often. It's generally more like: I thought I fixed that! QA signed off on that bug!

Yes, because it will totally be a crazy economic and political struggle simulator and not just matchmaking with faction wide bonuses.

Personally, I was hoping someone would turn up with the 6mth meme thing. Still, interesting to think how much time we will get to beta test the CW system.

Large scale meta? Give it to the goons, they'll find flaws. Then report them via demonstration. Probably take them one month at the outside.
