All too often, the lone light just runs off and powers down to be spiteful because he can and robs the enemy team of a full victory (and the rewards therein). Running off to separate a team isn't cowardly. That's tactics.

Yes, I'm running
No, I'm not charging 3 assaults standing shoulder to shoulder that you barely scratched.
No, I don't give a crap if its wasting your time, don't suck and you would won't leave lights in a 1 on 4
Yeah, I'm trying to string them out, I can't do that if I stand there and die.
Oh and before you call me out for not fighting...have more kills than me.
These things crack me up
Too many impatient kids play this game. They can't handle their Call of Dooty Mech Warrior match lasting longer than 3 minutes and they can't bother to hit the big button that says "QUIT MATCH." So I string matches out on purpose against these players, since their tears easily feed my trolling.
"Ban him for making the match last longer," is my favorite.

The only time that I am impatient is when the odds are stacked against an individual, and instead of trying to win by cap or go down swinging, they find a hiding spot and power down.
Worst case, this individual is being a coward. Best case, this is an attempt to pad their stats.
In either case, I find it unacceptable. (This is a jab at people with vastly more losses than deaths, by the way.)

Amusingly enough, stringing out a match is ok, but stating you're doing it for the sole purpose of 'trolling' probably falls under the category of 'griefing'.

Answer: Any soldier in the world who refuses to follow lawful orders in a combat zone may be charged with treason and summarily executed on the spot.
By abandoning your post and failing to execute the duties of your station constitutes failure to follow a lawful order, punishable by death.

Because you don't really die nor is there any repair or re arm costs, thus there is nothing reason not to go out fighting than to preserve a pointless soon to be wiped stat.

Don't even want to discuss how some were magically cockpitting me when I just peak my head out around cover at times to, with them having little way to know where I was at to begin with.

It's a PVP game, and there's nothing to gain for padding or delaying, except that you make people on your team mad. So you're really, really, really just doing it to pad and delay.
Because there's absolutely no reward in delaying it. At all. If you're like my old ER large commandos, delaying is because you're doing damage. This is amusing to watch. A pub raven running from 7 guys, actively avoiding anything resembling fighting? That's pathetic.
Just go die already.

No one wants to worry about the other Teams possible tactical decision on how to win the Match. If you die early, then sit and watch in silence, provide insight or move on.
I have griped on occasion myself, but mostly I do it to my monitor. Some times the level of sheer stupidity just becomes intolerable, but...
As they say in the real world, "One should engage ones brain before opening ones mouth." It will serve you way better.

You're using big words to attempt to add depth to giant robots ridgehumping. Even if this was a game like that, we'd have to accept that once people are dead, it's like watching wrestling.
Or in terms the TT boys understand, Solaris. I don't want to watch Hulk Hogan delay for 9 minutes, only to tap out. Give me someone who at least pretends he knows how to fight. The 'tactics' and 'strategy' might be more impressive in Hogan compensating for his bad everything, but the technical aspects and action in an RVD match are more fun to watch.

Question: does the same apply to people who let themselves be capped? Because I'm pretty certain that's what your post and orders are. Also, if we're doing the whole RP thing, why is acceptable to waste a mech on a losing battle?
Funny that I got three quotes on that, pushed a button?
Seriously though, you can cap, or you can try to run him down. But lights give up armor and firepower in order to dictate the flow of any engagement with them as an inherent avantage. Its like saying the last Atlas on the other team is griefing because hes rolling his torso and using all his guns. Again, you can cap, that's the most common reason that I see stated for having them there.

No... I'm talking about pilots that abandon the engagement. Capping is one thing, fighting is another, but abandoning the fight because you are a coward is unacceptable.
In regards to your "Post and Orders" comment, I'll give you the opportunity to avoid arguing military semantics with a former soldier.

Yet you still haven't shown what the person running away gains but preserving their stats. Enlighten us as to what the person is accomplishing other than preserving their stats. If that's what they want to do, at least have the balls to say it. Instead they want to hide behind ******** excuses. If you're a stat ***** then be a stat ***** but don't act like there is anything to gain by the running than wasting people's time and preserving your stats.

Of course, it was conquest and I was running out the clock hoping they wouldn't find me. Did manage to win that one, hah.

1: A poll.
2: A serious discussion
3: A stat wipe
#3 Will happen when achievements go online. The rest, don't take seriously.

At that point, do what you got to do to win/live, but what got you there in the first place? Did you provide ECM support, pounce on there lights as they closed against your team, or provide effective scouting? Could be that even with your best efforts, your team was bested. Or, you could have just run off to be Hero Raven and left your mates in the lurch, like so many Rav pilots do. There is more, for or against, to your story.

Wow, rage much?
And you don't find it ironic that you're dissing people for "stat padding" while simultaneously wanting what amounts to a free kill for someone on your team?
And sure, there's nothing to be gained from running; but then, what do you gain from fighing, or winning, or anything? Its just a game, and if you can't tolerate other people, play a single player one.

And if you don't want to wrap up a loosing match so your TEAM can get on to the next fight, then you're a lone wolf player, go to a single player game.
