Plus BOY OH BOY am I glad you are doing WMO because after having a look at MechWarrior Tactics it looks like Mech-Insult that has been shrunk and done as a top down view

I don't know if anybody has actually had a look at MW Tactics but this is what their Hunchie looks like -

Sure that isn't a Koschei?

Hey, you guys deserve it. The 'mechs look great and look very much like what I remember from my tabletop days. Just hope you guys can work in the Hatchetman at some point as its my signature mech. The vids make it look all the more better, with beautiful looking environments. Hope to see some Urban/City environments. Your take on the designs actually improved on a few i thought could look better.. The Centurion and Dragon for example look great.
And I agree.. Tactics looks fine in its own right, sure some of their designs are a bit.. unusual, but they're just using their own style, just as Piranah is giving them a more "Classic" but militarized look. May even play Tactics in addition into MWO.

What he said.
Plus I would just like to say I was not trying to cause any trouble of any kind it was just when I saw the 'Mechs they have designed I thought to my self oh sweet Jesus thank god MWO's 'Mechs don't look like that.
At the end of the day it is their game and they can design it which ever way they want it but before I actually seen it I got the idea that it was similar to Mech Commander but its not so I may give it a play but I won't play it anywhere near as much as MWO because of the way it has been done.
I am sorry for laughing so much but when I see an Atlas that can fire 74 LRM's it kicks me off laughing

"Oh look at the adorable little hunchback! Who's a good hunchie, who's a..." *AC/20 to the face!*
MWO's are sorta attractive.
"Hey you, yeah, the good looking hunchback. Come on over here. Why don't you..." *AC/20 to the face!*
Hmm, results are similar.

While I can (and do) respect the programming work they are doing, and the fact that they're working on a Battletech strategy game, I also happen to think that someone should go beat some sense into their art director. Most of this crap they're putting out isn't even remotely close; it's so far off, I can't even recognize half of them. What's worse, even if you ignore the fact that most of them look nothing like the mech they're supposed to represent, they don't even look like something that would ever come out of Battletech. They aren't your allies in the revival of mech combat. They're detractors from the Battletech universe in general.
I hope like hell someone else makes the next strategy game; there's no way I could play this one, no matter how good the gameplay is, unless they fix this broken 'art' of theirs.

The MWO mechs really do look damn good though, and frankly, I'm surprised we haven't seen tons of folks saying, "OMG, THE MWO MECHS LOOK AWFUL.".. not because they look awful, but because I don't think I've ever seen anyone create a mech design and not had at least half of the fans immediately declare that they hate it forever, and want it to die.
Maybe I just haven't seen it, but I havent' noticed the normal rage that BT fans usually bring out against anyone who tries to recreate their babies.

That's because, even though they're fresh editions of the classic designs, they're staying true to the originals. That's the difference between MWO and MWT artwork. The MWT designs aren't even recognizable, and don't make any sense whatsoever.

Eh, I don't know if that's really true.
For instance, look at MWT's dragon. It looks almost exactly like the TRO art.
To me, what impresses me most about MWO's art is that they managed to add their own touch to it, made it look cool... and somehow avoided the BT Fanboy rage that always shows up.
Regardless, overall, I'm kind of surprised at the huge resurgence of mecha games as a whole that we've seen recently. I think most folks kind of thought that battletech fans were too much of a niche market to really bother with, but then all of a sudden we get a huge number of cool robot games all at once.
To me, it's a no brainer... Giant robot are cool, thus, games with giant robots are cool. Interesting to see that obvious truth about the world has started to catch on again.

The Dragon is one of the few that actually resembles what it's supposed to be. That said, it's too short, and its main weapon is on the wrong arm.
The only other one that is actually close to its intended design is the Catapult (the Catapult's arm-pods have never been that wide, but I can excuse that as the byproduct of a different brand of launcher being fitted). The Spider is also recognizable, as is the Stalker, although the latter is missing half its weaponry, for starters.

Compared to our Hunchie -

I honestly have to say that at first it took me some time to adjust to the new look of the 'Mechs for MWO but I can now say that they all look bloody awesome (no pun intended

As I said above great job and keep up the good work

While both styles are nice i do like the MW:O's version more since it's more true to the original looks with a nice update. MW:T's versions are probably as such because they plan on reflecting weapons installed by changing the graphic on the units.
