I just wanted to say your doing a very good job ;)
Plus BOY OH BOY am I glad you are doing WMO because after having a look at MechWarrior Tactics it looks like Mech-Insult that has been shrunk and done as a top down view Posted Image

I don't know if anybody has actually had a look at MW Tactics but this is what their Hunchie looks like -

Compared to our Hunchie -

I honestly have to say that at first it took me some time to adjust to the new look of the 'Mechs for MWO but I can now say that they all look bloody awesome (no pun intended  ) *The only Mech to me that needs more attention would be the Raven!

As I said above great job and keep up the good work :) :) :)

That can't be for real. Who the **** is behind the art direction there, someone who once knew a guy who had a friend who played a Mechwarrior game?

Why does the torso look like Terminator Armor? What's with the minigun and the.... claw?

Why is it a thousand ******* feet tall?

I'd have to concur. Given the huge gap in development of the mechwarrior franchise, I was originally both eager and fearful to see what the guys at Piranha would pull off.

I have to say, their art style is probably the best I've seen in any digitized representation of the battlemechs. They've incorporated some of the more "gritty" aspects that we saw in games like MW4, where they moved away from the more anime-style renderings of the mechs into more realistic military looking designs, but at the same time have somehow kept more of the "core" feel for a lot of the mechs... at least as far as their appearance.

The gameplay videos look pretty awesome, and it's been a long time since I was this excited to see a new game come out. It's also impressive how fast they have put this together.

Looks pretty slick so far, folks.

It doesn't surprise me. All the mechs are slightly off. The Atlas has a giant cannon on its shoulder...

I've been curious about this for some time.

I looked at the rest of their mechs and some aren't too bad. I actually kind of like the Awesome even though it does remind me of a Rifleman/Jagermech.

Welcome back to my biggest pet-peeve: MISMATCHED MISSILE POD SIZES.

What the hell is that, an LRM-24?

I am surprised they arent using the same models, since they have the same publishers they could cut a chunck of money using the same art for both games. As well as given a more integrated universe.

I mean tactics using PGI models since MWO is much more beautiful

Mechwarrior Tactics is the game I have been looking for since FASA Interactive leaked that they created a hex based game but decided not to release it and then we get an introduction to the art of Mechwarrior Tactics (Link to others).

The Atlas looks like someone decided it should be a LRM support mech, the hunchback looks like it was raped by a Elemental, the Awesome looks like a frankenstien Awesome / Jaguermech, and the Catapult looks like it is carry around two LRM Tanks for its launchers.

Just a heads up. We know the people at Acronym and they're taking Tactics in a different art direction. They're doing a very good job visualizing their game the way they want it. It looks cool and if you take a look at their videos, their gameplay and playback system look very cool. Please be considerate to our fellow developers. They are not competitors, they're our allies in the revival of Mech combat.

wow.... they really mangled some of the designs
MWO Catapult doesn't look exactly like it's original design, BUT I do think it looks quite good.

Well, obviously Tactics is going for a different look, to set itself apart from MWO, and probably to attract a different set of playerbase.

Tactics in a game to me, is very important in a turn based game, so graphics are not very important to me compared to how the rule system works.

That being said, artistically MWO wins my vote for sure!

I can not comment on play-ability since I have not played either game yet, but I can guess that MWO will win that vote from me too!

P.S. What Paul said... I got Ninja'd!
