General Discussion

I miss General Discussion but it was turning into an angry unfocused mob and the venom was contagious. Splitting up the discussion so it has more structure (and doesn't lend itself to dramatic I WANT MY REFUND! bull) is something that was very, very smart to do.

For that we shall need another separate sub-sub-sub-sub-division known as Mech-Balance interplay.

I would like to be more optimistic, but it's difficult. The past few weeks have been really rough on the game. I know I haven't been playing even with prem time ticking away. More than ever before it feels like the whole thing is sinking.
I just don't know what to think. I sat with Soy in teamspeak and chatted for about 30 minutes. We both were seeing the same things, even though we don't always agree on the boards.
That tells me the problems are fairly evident at this point.

But WHY was that happening? Wouldn't it be better to examine why 50% of the player base on the forums is not just apathetic towards the game, but down right angry?
Yes, I know...we are the minority of players and what have you.
But as a free to play game, you should never be turning away customers.
Instead of dealing with the issues, they decided to delete the general forum.
It's bad business.

No we must follow pgi's example.
Every topic type must be sub-divided.
WE should even have it divided by whether you like a certain feature or dislike.
That way people like you and Jakucha don't ever have to get upset over people stating they have problems with certain features.
Much less heart ache for you all.

C'mon man. At one point you were engaged. We didn't always agree, but this is just getting sad.
Copying and pasting threads, linking them? How is that good for the health of the game when new players are coming here.
Why are we ignoring the issues that have made a large portion of the forum goers disenfranchised from MW:O?

I know why it was happening. The same way any angry mob starts: Someone is angry. They rant about something that you might remember, then someone steps in and goes "ME TOO!" Pretty soon a mild bug they're working on turns into the END OF THE GAME. Of course everyone wants to prevent the end of the game by immediately wanting to burn down it's creators (because you dislike a gun or something, usually).
Pretty quickly you end up with an unfocused version of this:
EDIT: Actually I think that clip sums up General Discussion entirely.

So basically you just want every one to simmer in their juices in silence and for pgi to not have to address anything.
Well I guess thats one way to look at it... it's worse for pgi to do things this way ofcourse but what ever.,

Are you intimating that PGI would do this to quell dissent on topics not of their liking? No, they would never do that. See none of you see the real genius of this, see people can't complain without navigating the maze of subforums so there are obviously less issues as a result of this decision. So the issues go away!
It's genius, plus it keeps their Internet bill down because less users of bandwidth on the forums. You guys had no faith PGI would fix their game. See game fixed and you doubted PGI, shame on you. No more shitstorms, so there can't be anymore problems. Whomever thought of this should get a raise!

they didnt like the fact that ppl using forums disagree with them on many topics and they say ppl using forums are actually minority and as such their opinion apperently doesnt matter, also general discussion? why why let the minority talk
"hey guys theres lot of discussion on the forum about changes we are planning, should we rethink it? " nah they are minority, we know REAL players will love what we do"

That's painting the issue with a broad stroke. And does not get into the nitty gritty.
The issues stem from things like "No one is working on third person, but I am the only guy working on third person".
And "We will not add Coolant, but we will add a Coolant consumable, it's not the same thing".
And "Machine guns are fine, look at how fast a 6 MG Spider can kill an Atlas".
Or "Sorry we didn't notice SRM's have been doing extra damage for 5 months, but we'll quickly hotfix them, then wait a couple months to fix them".
These are the things that PGI should be looking at and working on fixing. Their message, their interaction with the players, making sure patches have actual content/fixes and not just more ways to make money (while adding in a ton of bugs).
The "General Forum" wasn't the issue.

What is so hard about jettisoning those posts? Most of us wouldn't make a peep if that happened.
I feel like you are stretching to make a point.
I agree those posts are dumb.
