I'm not sure why, but my .pak files keep getting corrupted. I'll play for a day or two and all will be well, then I get an fread crash, run the repair tool, it finds and re-downloads corrupt files, I play again for a day or two and then the cycle repeats. Thank you for the tool, it is MUCH easier than reinstalling or manually backing up after each patch. Is this a problem with the game itself? If so, I'm not sure how the game manages to corrupt files that should it should be only reading, not writing. Am I not understanding something?

Same here, getting pretty frustrating. This repair tool has made it a little better, but the FRead still happens too often.

So after the patches I've been having a freezing issue where the game locks up. I thought I'd give this a try. Instead, I end up with this every single time.... just can't win.

spankn,

make sure you don't have a copy of the game running. that's what was causing that problem for me

can you knit into the game a shader file delete command so I don't have to close client, delete shader and restart client every 4 games

Firstly that make no sense, why would the repair to have anything to do with "aimbots"

Also

Scan complete!
No mismatches were found!

With the current options, clicking 'Fix' below will:
-Resolve any mismatched (invalid) files.
-Remove unneeded local files (if any were found).
-Clean shaders
-Clean local cache of FE images (fresh image will download the next time the game is run).

Fixing!!!

Fixing mismatched files.
-Fixed!
Cleaning unneeded files.
-Cleaned!
Cleaning FE textures.
-Cleaned!
Cleaning shaders.
-Cleaned!
Done!

I think there are too many exclamation marks for doing nothing... Going to start saying i fixed things that didn't need fixing in the workplace too :)

I was just hoping it would be complex enough to detect the "piggy back" programs used to aimbot.

They have anticheat tools, without them the game would be destroyd. Fairplay is one of main priorities.

I get this every time as well, running Windows 8 and getting dropped every three or four games; says there's stuff to fix, "stop[s] working" right after I click fix.

Run Task Manager (press Ctrl+Shift+Esc), check that MWOClient.exe is not running. At least on my previous crash, the game client stopped drawing anything, but it still did not shut down the process (and therefore, probably kept the files locked.)

I would recommend that if you have yet to patch your game... patch your game FIRST (plus close the frontend/patcher) then run the MWO Repair Tool. It'll save you a lot of time and grief.

My MWOpatcher would not do much other than give me the MD5 hash error, so, after deleting every registry reference to the MWO game I could fine (that were legitimate MWO related) I tried to patch yet again.

Fail - MD5 hash error.

so, I am running the repair tool and it is loading up about 1,153 MB of stuff,

Done, checking/unzipping......

Launched without needing the patch process because repair did it.

The game works!!

Well the repair tool kept crashing for the last 3 days after patching 0-3 files per run (and taking about 20 minutes each time just to check files it had already repaired on previous runs) - I finally got a clean run of the repair tool...and the game still won't run. the initial patcher comes up and says "Ready" but clicking "Play" just minimises it and doesn't run the game. (This is on my work computer, my computer at home runs the game just fine)

Can we add an option to skip individual files on the check if we have to run it multiple times, so we can "Cut to the chase" if the repair tool keeps crashing and we need to run it again, or maybe just give us a direct FTP download option for individual files?

It's currently a stand-alone just in case I need to pump out new versions quickly. Once the repair tool is proven out through this public release, I'll knit it into the patcher so no more external downloading is needed.

Do you have a Mwo Repair Tool for the Public Test version of MWO? I kept getting Hash mismatch error when trying to install the Public Test client..

I am getting the MD5 hash error for the July 16th patch... So I started running the repair tool, in hopes it will sort out the problem..
I hope the repair tool is not obsolete.
