Likewise. Fingers are crossed that someone will create an alternate software or driver package, but until then, there will be no razer products on my desk. The artemis looks amazing and I have really high hopes for it, but I'm not quite so interested in having all of my business sold to someone else's.

It seems like maybe Razer is clarifying their communications on what they do and how they do it. They issued a statement to Forbes yesterday, regarding the Synapse 2.0 software, as well as promising upgrades and changes to the software to make it an "always offline" thing. Either way, they're swearing up, down, and sideways that it's not spyware and not DRM. More information at the article:

Not Spyware!

I wonder how competitive I can be with the Artemis... I don't need immersion as much as I need to be more efficient, and it's hard to spend lots of money to find out what the trade off will be.

Tbh I think the Artemis is just a dream, theres not been a single bit of info been released since it was last announced in June. And if it does get released at a decent price (without the screen I hope, whos going to be looking at that screen when your being blown to smithereens) I may consider it, bit of hassle though to deny razer programs access to the internet because of their 'spyware' though lol

At this point, I'm thinking it's vaporware.

Shame really. Although in light of recent events with razer...I think I'll just go buy the logitech gamer mouse I've been looking at.

Well, Turns out razor is going to start using their product for the soul purpose of tracking literally all of your user data, including but not limited to any and all software on your computer and it's usage using their new software "synapse." They then plan on selling all that spyware gathered info to 3rd parties.

R.I.P. Razor

It's a shame, i really wanted the artemis too.

+1 Razor is dead to me now.

Looks neat, but I don't see myself shelling out dough for something that will make one game play better. I'd rather put it towards a new graphic card and have all my games play better.

I have been using a Diamondback & a Death Adder for years without any issues. The DB has had the rubber coating on the mouse 1 & 2 worn off but it still works like a champ. Same goes for the DA. I never updated from the drivers either mouse it shipped with because they work fine. I did not want to install Synapse because it is not necessary. They still have the legacy drivers available for most of their older gear so I am not sure why people are so bent over it. If you don't want the tracking bloatware, don't install it. If you don't want to buy new because bloatware is the only avenue, buy something else.

I have a Razer Naga Hex, Synapse doesn't boot with my boot up, mouse runs fine.

Anyway... where's the Artemis... I just bought a Cheapy Black Widow (great btw) for my son...

All I saw was a drawing with some flashy background mech video and music. There is no actual hardware to look at. Just like when they showed these same drawings months ago this is still vapor-hardware.
