for mediums you have to average 800dmg + min of 3 kills to get to the top. for heavies I would have to say somewhere around 900 dmg average +3-5 kills to climb to the top. so there you go! have fun catching up! :P

Yup, to get top twenty at least 800 damage and a full mix of eight kills/assists

lets put it this way. the way I play to win the tourney is absolutely ********. when I say I play aggressive, I mean I play so aggressive that about 1/3 times I fail miserably. now. out of those 2/3 times I don't fail so hard, about 1/2 the matches of that I loose or win. now, 1/3 times I win the match, I say only 30-40% of the matches (that I win) I do 500 ish average dmg. about 10-20% matches I do around 700 average. now, the kicker is I only do super fantastic (800+)I merely 5-10%. so yea, have fun! o yea, I can see why some people think im exploiting the system. there are games that I will do 50-200 dmg and die. the reason being is because i get to the front fastest i can, start shooting my weapons at enemies from earliest point, never ever keep my heat below 40%, and finish the game with overheated mech. so yes, im pretty much throwing it all down on the table or get nothing. i will overheat on purpose to get that kill even if there is enemy mech close by hoping he wont shoot at me. every one of those kills will count so ill take that chance

It is not really a tournament is it but more a limited league? A tournament implies competition and right now, as Koreanese indicates, this seems to be more a test of will, reserve and the ability to play as many matches as possible.

There have been videos posted of some of the winners of the current tournament showing that they have sync dropped and possibly have secondary accounts creating AFK mechs on opposing teams to tip the odds then they completely strip the armour of the AFK mech after they destroy the rest of the team.

And this is the reason i FINALLY want to see a tourney where the true average over the time is used. Its fun that they just avoid and ignore the most fair system over their "best of".

All tournament so far had the problem that someone who play more has more chances to be on top or get the perfect matches.
With a true average system (or ELO), these failed matches would count as well. And "balance" the stats to a more realistic way. But i guess its eighter to difficult to make such a system (doubt it), or they (PGI) dont think so, and belive their tourneys are more fair.....

But as you said, you play agressive because the current rules require it. If there would be another rule, like average, a lot would play different. The score rule dictate the play style.

So far on all tourneys i could tell how it will be, and what the average max top score will look like (all but the first one, i didnt thought there are some who play these many matches). As well how the player will play and what the exploid problems will be. The funnies part is "Damage Done – Team Damage" in the current score. After i said on last one that these will win that teamkill. And it seems it even happend.

Maybe they should take the best 5 matches and add them to the worst 5 matches, might force people to play the best they can all the time.

Except your 5 worse over any real period of time will always be 5 CTD matches. Hell, I tried playing last night, 3 rounds, first CTD, next two 4fps. Said **** it and went to bed. I think the FPs drop is something screwy with my system and now mwo but I wasn't about to wait for a restart.

Those three matches got me 74 points.

Best suggestion i have heard all night. This +1

Things like saviour kills and spots should be taken into account as well.- you might get credits for the kill or the damage, but who spotted the target for you or did all the damage!

I think there is another important question that needs to be asked about this tournament. Having just watched Koreanease's video on aiming, I notedx all those mechs he has, all those lovely paint jobs and his MC balance. It begs the question, how many of those players finishing in the top ten are players that play for free and have not used MC in anyway what so ever?

I think t his is a very important question as it is really the first data set where this issue can be more properly addressed.

Sadly not with the current state of the game. Its to unstable. To many crashes. Maybe not for all. But the high number of crashes some have will total ruin the stats.

That is true unfortunately, but maybe taking damage out of the equation might help a little, and make all actions equal, kill/assist/spot/component etc....make it based on experience or something (minus premium etc).

They really need to make it as simple and as ***** proof as possible, so the good players get what they deserve and the exploiters are left with very little, and your average man/woman (and various transgender species/super-intelligent shades of the colour blue) on the street actually feels like they might stand a chance.

These contests are broken since players are synch dropping to create "solo" 4+ man teams and the team is allowing individuals to boost there scores by allowing one person to do most of the damage to the enemy mechs.

All the team has to do is allow one person to shoot up one or two disabled or DC'ed mech and that person scores 1200 damage a match. There is play footage all over the net showing this occurring.
