Ran a highlander last night
Got jumped by a Spider and Jenner.
Killed Jenner then,I died.
Lights working as intended.

2 on 1 when light mechs are supposed to be more effective at taking out assaults. it implies to me that those lights were either weak in some way or poorly piloted. poorly piloted is the more likely answer.

I enjoy the way a jenner can sit behind a stalker and take 0000000.000 damage because it can walk faster than a stalker can turn.

I hope you aren't serious. There is a lot of fail in that statement.

Don't run off where a single Light 'Mech could kill you? Turn in the opposite to whichever direction the Light 'Mech is circling you so you can land a shot on it? Use the amazing power of text communication to ask for help dealing with the Light 'Mech? Learn to aim so you can destroy a Light 'Mech before he closes within short range? Get on TS and into a group with a buddy so you can keep Light 'Mechs off each others' backs? Stop complaining about the second most underpowered 'Mech class in the game? Buy a Highlander so you can use the jump jets to turn fast enough to keep up with the Light 'Mech? Press the rear portion of your 'Mech against a wall?

using full reverse and turning i was always able to keep a light mech under my reticle even when he was circling at full speed. my atlas tops out at 48kph. not just sweep across him once in a while, but actually hold him under fire.

the problem is the assault mechs tend to collect the really dumb pilots. the ones who think more weapons and armor guarantees a win. a skilled pilot will always have the edge in any mech class. the only thing lights had that was unfair was the lag shield and efforts are being taken to curb that.

Honestly man, lern2play. I just had 4 games in a row where I got 3+ kills each. 3 With an AWS-8Q, 1 with a highlander. I got at least 2 light mechs in each of those games. After HSR, lights are incredibly easy to just nuke with a big alpha, it's not even funny. The only danger lights pose is swarm tactics now, and as long as you position well with support that's not an issue.

The player name Light Horse Regiment IE a name to mean a light cavalry unit, which in battletech would be made up of light and medium fast mechs. Mechs that would be used for scouting, screening, fast attack and response, and harassment. Has created a thread complaining about light mechs ruining the game.

For me I just can't kill lights. I actually think ping is the issue- I'm connecting from New Zealand so play at about 200 ping. Its not that that I find it too hard to target and hit them, its just that they aren't taking damage from it. So even though I'm laying in enough fire power to take out an atlas, because the game is misreporting where the light is on my screen, he just isn't getting hurt from it most the time.

I am from Australia and usually around 300ish and I don't have much problem. When I try to use PPC's though the damage seems not to register if they're moving at more than a crawl. Autocannons and lasers work fine for me though.

Light mechs are extremely squishy. My thoughts are ignore the torsos and go for the legs. One alpha will usually strip all the armor off and have the internals hurting if it doesnt take the leg clean off. I've noticed that light mechs tend to leave you alone and go hide somewhere at that point - but they usually won't survive to leave the engagement area if you have decent team mates.

Sorry did not read all until now, only some....

My 2Cents:

Lights are really Overpowerd atm.

They can kill every Heavy or Assault, run through all 8 enemy mechs without getting badyl hurt.

It really is not funny how long it takes to get one down, because your damage will spread all over the mech.

Even if they stand still most balanced Loadouts can´t Leg them in one shot or even strip all armor of the CT.

It takes about 0 Skill to "rock" in a Jenner.
I can´t talk about other Ligths but i have masterd the Jenners and in a Jenner F with 6 MLas you basicly have to try hard or have really bad luck to NOT do insane amounts of damage.

I feel cheap when using it and i can say that piloting a Jenner takes lot less skill then a 6PPC Stalker or Cata 3D Jumpsniper.

Lights are just anoying as hell and most Mechs cant do anything about it because the only way to get a Light down fast is a lucky hit to the Knee with 40-60 Alpha Builds.

If you don´t get lucky you will have to hunt them for 10 Minutes while theyr heavys can snipe you. If you don´t hunt them they will just kill your rear armor while you battle with the real mechs... (or even worse, cap your base)

Its ok that a Light can take out Assaults and Heavys, its not ok how long it takes for them to go down even when running rigth through all enemys like stupid. (Or not stupid.. because well they can do it without anthing bad happening...)

I would suggest to not double Armor on Lights but only give them 1,5x the TT Value.

I totally disagree with just about everything you said. If your alive at the end of a drop and your in a light - youo are some kind of awesome pilot any more or everyone on the other team was just a crappy shot.

Oh really? How does it come that i can do 600+ dmg battles in my Jenner F on regular basis but i am one of that "noobs" that can´t kill Ligths fast at the same time? I am a bit confused now.

Just did a Battle with my Stalker with 5xSSRM i put 5 or 6 SSRM Alphas in a Jenner... not even Armor gone... this is a JOKE... nothing more...

In this battle the enemy had 2x Raven, 1x Commando and one Jenner. We had one Raven. Was lost from the start, not even a Streakboating Stalker can kill a Jenner fast? What can kill it fast then? Lucky shots with 4-6 PPCs?

Yes, did that too from time to time.. but its lucky, not skill if you one shot a Light running 120-150 with PPCs.

I'm not sure you've played MWO at all since HSR was implemented, then.

PPCs are almost hitscan as their projectiles travel at 2km/s - since HSR, it's not difficult at all to land solid PPC shots on Light 'Mechs, and there are many Light 'Mech builds which rely upon PPCs to attack other 'Mechs, including enemy Lights.
The preferred weapon for Light 'Mech hunting is the AC/20, and its projectile is about 60% slower.

As for Streaks, their damage/missile ratio has been reduced significantly in a previous patch.
Almost all weapons can be used to damage Lights regularly these days, so for the most part Streaks are only useful because they tend to damage the center torso; it's not such a great advantage against a Jenner because that 'Mech has a huge and exposed center torso anyway, so a harder-hitting weapon would probably be more effective.

Lights simply don't pose a threat unless they can gang up on individual 'Mechs - and in that case, even Mediums can prove deadly.

Sorry but luck has very little to do with it - though range can make that statement a bit less true. I kill lights quite frequently. In the spring cleanup tourney they were my bread and butter - a high percentage of my kills were lights.

As for not being able to kill a Jenner with that many SSRMs - don't see how as I see streaks cut them up pretty easy. Are you sure we are playing the same game? Are you in Europe or somethig. Sure a light can sometimes run through a crowd but I don't see it survive that very often.

'spread' is about the weakest excuse I've ever heard for not being able to kill a light mech.

My Commando has just 12 points of armor and 12 points of HP between you and the XL engine in my side torso (that's ignoring critical shots). My center torso is just 16+16, still 2 points less then your cockpit. Sorry to give you the numbers, but it takes more damage to stand still and core an AFK Hunchback then it does to destroy all 3 of my torso sections.

Or maybe you meant to say 'miss by a mile' instead of 'spread'.
