Sentinel, just a thought man, (great work btw).

The original artist, Anthony Scroggins, Aka Shimmering Sword @ deviantart...

Send him some pix. Just because. He put a lot of work into that painting you know?

Oh, and Love it, totally love it.

Yep, this Marauder gets my "shimmy seal of approval".

Sentinel worked closely with me to ensure that everything matched my intentions, I even spent a few hours working on the model myself to make small tweaks.

Now I just have to strong arm CGL/IWM into producing it officially :)

I'd actually be interested in an official Marauder mini or two if it actually looked like yours. Far superior to the original art and the Project Phoenix art. If we could just get your unseen/reseen designs and the MWO mechs in mini form I'd be a happy customer.

I have over $500 worth of old ral partha miniatures still in their blister packs and I have 0 interest in painting them...

I personally have been waiting for the models from MWO to appear in the TT realm. Once those do, I will be purchasing a whole new lot of minis (and I'm sure I am not the only one waiting).

I agree completely. MWO rekindled my interest in the tabletop game and made me want to get some minis and start painting, but when I looked at the minis available and how terrible they look compared to the MWO designs, I just couldn't do it. The moment I can buy MWO minis, I'm giving my bank account information to the seller and telling them just to take what they want and gimme gimme gimme.

Dear god that looks good. I move that we petition PGI to use specifically this model for the in game Marauder. Surely the legality of the art should be safe.....Harmony gold will have their own modernised art for the Zendregar or whatever....

Edit: Also, loving the CPLT-K2(F) on the front page, can we get more pics of that?

Any news yet on whether your minis might become commercially available some day?

If you look hard enough there are sources.....

With that being said, its unlikely to see an official launch of anything like this. The Battletech liceanse is all over the bloody place, thats the reason why they cant make any new Battletech novels and/or reprint the old ones. Same reason that I believe PGI isnt in control of a merchandizing liceanse for MWO, if im not horribly off key I believe someone else holds the "master" liceanse. Good news is the files are easy to get ahold of and Pirhana has given the okay to make your own fan based items from the game assets.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think shimmering sword designed the original artwork for this particular one, and Sentinel 3dified it... So unless shimmering sword assigned the rights or was commissioned for it he should still have retained rights over the original design. And sentinel has rights over his 3D source files, but who knows, copyright's all confusing nowadays.
