I am all for opening up the book and bringing in more weapons but I stopped myself for a moment and realized.....

They can't balance what we have now. Adding more will just make it all worse. Adding a weapon in now is change for the sake of change, and that's never a good thing.

Possibly, adding more would make it "at least different."

Right now, there are X accepted "working builds" right? 2x PPC + Gauss, Dual LL + SRM's, etc.

Adding more weapons, while it might not fix "balance," might at least provide some variety B)

Look at Borderlands 2. Try to find a "best gun" in that game. So many, so random, it doesn't much matter. Perhaps the delightful bliss of pure chaos could help? :P

If any new weapons I would suggest a sonic cannon of some sort that work in the same way as a flamer but rather then heat, it lowers the enemy speed while they are caught in the weapon area of fire. It seems like it would be good with MASC because a mech that is caught in it would just use MASC to escape.

But now that I think more into it, it seems likely to never happen. >,<

a sonic weapon able to stop a mech would most likely just kill every living thing in its line of fire.

Hey Mates,

there are alot of new mechs in MWO. All of them are really nice work fo developers. But they all ve same one, THEY CARRY THE SAME WEAPONS OVER THE TIME. I really like the game but it started to get boring because finally its always the same....there are no new weapon systems.

Here are my wishes

1. light gaus weapon system
2. Ultra AC2
3. Long Tom
4. Air Grenade system, that exploade near enemy mech like a cluster system
5. Kind of Laser or Energy system that cut the enemy mech on short range (think there was one at old MW game called Elektro Fluxx)

Fine, hope there are new system aviable further time.

Have fun

I'm still voting for the BLazer. It's already an established weapon, it has stats and was balanced for TT, and it would give us an energy counterpart to the AC/20.

Instead of brand new weapons, I'd rather see unique versions of weapons we already have in game with tweaked stats and effects. ie;

Defiance 1001 ER PPC does 12 damage, but has a minimum range, or a Norse Storm Gauss rifle has a longer charge hold but blows up for 25 damage, a Sunbeam Large Laser that has longer range but only does 7 damage, etc etc.

A Thunderbolts - Sunglow Typ 2 - has 50% a longer beam duration dealing 33% more damage.

jep - but they would have the same mechanic - as the Gauss...hold for charge....that means 50% of the player base will think that weapon is nerfed to the ground :)

There are so many other weapon variants in the 3050 book it's actually ridiculous.

Balancing all of those in MWO is going to be almost impossible if they try to implement them.

Also... you might think you do but you DO NOT WANT long toms. Long toms basically = original LRM death storms - like with long toms someone murders you via a spotter from their base. That would not be a good idea.

I would be gladly to have some "infantry" support autocannons (will be heavy machine gun) or recoilless rifles
or machine gun arrays.

But stick to time line:
* rifles( really underpowerded but to have a 3t ballistic would be cool)
* rocket launcher (only one shot - but if you make it count)
* binary laser - large -extremly heat burden 100% of a large laser- 50% more damage as the standard laser

Arrows
and other artillery pieces

We need still need mech mortars .... Still lacking the smoke field for providing cover on retreat and advancement against sniper and missile boats. Flamers you can do it with, but its a poor man's smoke cover.

Yes, the trollolol Bola Pod -> http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Bola_Pod I didn't know that these actually existed until earlier this year. I see this system as the holy grail for taking out fast moving lights. Picture the Jenner doing a face plant in the snow of Forest Colony.

I'm seeing a lot of nos but no explanations. Why are you voting in that manner? Why wouldn't you want something like the Binary Laser in game? If there's even one weapon you'd like to see added, you have to vote yes.

The timing is wrong. And the reasons given in the OP as to why are pretty hilarious, as is inferring that no one really cares about CW or Op Revival.

A Chainsaw, you say? ;)

I'd rather have Retractable Blades, myself.

I'd like to see some of the other sizes of the standard weapons come in to play

LB-2X, LB5X, and LB20X AC.
ER Small and Medium Lasers.

However, these don't start being available until 3058.

Weapons IS has access to that aren't currently in the game:

Binary Laser - Basically two large lasers welded together, saves you 1 ton over just using two large lasers. Could be useful.

Long tom cannon - indirect mortar cannon, not sure how that would work in game with current mechanics.

Sniper Cannon - think AC/10 with mortar shells

Silver Bullet Gauss - LB-10x / Gauss Rifle hybrid, can't see that being very popular.

Arrow IV - Already covered in earlier posts.

So if we're sticking to the timeline, there's not really a whole lot of weapons to add just yet.
