You're just saying that it doesn't work on any other Mech, without explaining why. Of course it works on other mechs. Works great on my Awesomes, works on Cataphracts, you name it. And even if it didn't, it doesn't matter so long as it works on the Stalker. It's not like STD engines are expensive.

I don't care about Pancakephract, but all 8-series Awesomes deserves nothing less than a STD300 engine. NOTHING LESS.

So far, I'm liking Helmstif's builds the best.

Curious, has anyone done a dedicated Misery build with a huge LRM rack with the bells and whistles for old school artillery to see how it does after the patch?

I don't get why people likes LPL when practically it's no difference from two ML strapped together.

I swear by my LPL in my PB build, my 9M build, and soon to be completed Atlas DC build.

First off, a LPL will do double the dmg as a Med laser. Yes the ranges coincide, but the similarities end there. The thing that makes pulses so effective is the duration. The DPS of a LPL is 2.5, compared to the forum fav LL which has a DPS of 2.12, and Med laser which has a DPS of 1.25. The heat gain is only marginal when comparing it vs a LL, 9.30 vs 9.0.

Personally I hate PPC's. The LPL is extremely effective at hitting fast movers as well as mechs that are running perpendicular to you. The nature of the terrain and duration of regular lasers often means your dmg gets spread more across the enemy while with pulses you have a much greater chance of keeping the dmg in a tight group.

I find them the most effective when paired with SRM's which do spread dmg. With regular lasers, me personally, just find myself spreading the dmg too much, prolonging the fight, which in both of my AWS is never a good thing.

Obviously the major drawback of the LPL vs LL is range, but since I like to play brawlers this is not an issue.

So there is the weight thing, not an issue with an Assault mech tbh.

I feel you probably know all this already, but I felt I had to defend my favorite large energy weapon in the game, regardless.

However, I have yet to play a STK, Not sure if they are stronger frontline brawler, or long range fire support. They are quite slow.

BTW, I like your build on page 1. Seems very effective.

I suppose you can do that...but the question is: why?

Also this runs stock engine so if anyone feels like trying out feel free :) (I ain't getting Stalker)

If I pick up Misery, here's how I intend to run it: Misery

This mech wasn't built as a spearhead, but it would work great when used in support of another assault. Allow the brawler to get in, and just go to town on mediums and heavies that go after the Atlas, or focus fire with the assault.

Full armour, speeds between 57-62.9, cooling efficiency at 47%. With the changes to BEAGLE coming, pair it with the LBX for a great light deterrent. LBX should be good to score crits on internals after stripping away armour with the lasers as well.

Not likely to survive on its own, but then again, most stalkers don't. It should hit hard when paired, though.

Picked up the Misery today. Can't say I'm impressed with it at all for the price of it. I would have expected it to at least have another ballistic slot or the torso twist of the 3F. Tbh this is a $30 novelty. I kind of regret purchasing the bloody thing.

This is my build

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...28f134086bd87e5

I have bad luck with gauss rifle explosions, so I swapped it out for an AC/20 and four tons of ammo. Trading out the single heat sinks for a smaller number of doubles and deleting the SRM launcher and ammo allowed me to up the engine to a STD 300.

Went for a slightly cooler build at the expense of alpha, but with armor & speed bump.

I am sorry Blalok, but that is a flawed build-- by using endosteel, you trade fourteen crit slots for one ton of extra stuff

Which is why I have this.

Still I think PGI is scared by the notion of P2W, which is why they pushed forward such a miserably weak Hero. They could've at least gave it two ballistic hardpoints on LT.

Seriously? ML? What I don't get is why, after we have improved hit detection and no shooting delay on them anymore people still think it is smart to choose LPL over PPC.

I don't intend to get the Misery, but i did try my hand at making a build for it MISERY
You can swap out the srm and the arm ll's for a gauss rifle. Another thing to note, while an xl on a stalker is a no-no, it might be acceptable considering the risk of gauss explosion.

Finding this build to be fun, heat efficient, and capable of multiple ranges.

Taxes my brain using all the weapon systems, so it gets very fun.

Thats why I use Coolant Flush 9 :) Basically you can constantly shoot neither 2*ERPPC+Gauss or 3*ML, so in the end this is rather secure sleight to pilot. When combat ends up to knife fighting distances, then things seem to get difficult, but nothing one can't handle.

With this its fun to shoot poptarts from mid-air

If you carry an AC20 then you wouldn't have enough crit slots to XL, if you carry a Gauss then it's like strapping a bomb inside your bra.
