This one got me some kills earlier tonight. I think it's a keeper for now.

My most useful build for my Misery as of right now is the 4 LL/AC20 build with 28 rounds.

I tend to score 600-800 on average with it. A bad round will still net me 450-550.

I haven't found any use whatsoever for the single missle tube, so I just ignore it.

And I have removed AMS from all my mechs. No one fires LRM anymore it seems, that save another 1.5 tons.

4x MLAS
1x LLAS
1x GAUSS
2x GAUSS ammo
1x CASE

19x DHS
305 STD ENG
518 POINTS FERRO-FIBROUS ARMOR

Essentailly the stock Misery minus the SRMs. Low alpha but you'll never have to worry about heat.

Yea, yea I chose the often useless Ferro-Fibrous, but I only needed just a little more weight to get the 305 engine and it's cheaper. Choose Endo-Steel if you have the c-bills and want the 310, but there will be leftover weight and no space left with this loadout.

Yes, it's a weak build alpha-wise but it suits my style (constant stream of fire, yet run cool).

So three different Misery builds with 4-5 Large Lasers and heat efficiency in the low thirties?

<scratches head>

30-45% (1.25~1.5) is what you want to shoot for, any better and you are loosing damage if you can control the heat.

Posted this in another thread, but this build uses all weapon types with 6.05 sustained DPS

Opinions?

I haven't had time to go through all the mechs, but is Misery the first "left-handed" mech we've seen?

It's the first one (as far as I know) where the huge, direct fire weapon is not mounted on the right arm or right torso.

It's just a random thing I noted - probably has no real game value...

Anyway, from what I've seen, the Misery is a good mech, and I like the builds here.

Oddly, I'm finding the 4PPC, Gauss, 300XL combination in the Misery to be working for me the best.

However, it's not a mech to be taking into the field first...I follow another assault mech and soften up their targets for them, and the results have been very positive. I don't brawl, and always stay the heck away from the center of a firefight.

I Use mine as such:

Gauss (3 Tons of Ammo)
LRM20+artemis (2Tons of Ammo)
5x Medium Laser
15 Double Heat Sink
AMS
280 Engine
Endo Steel

And it work pretty well.

Revised build. Replaced the Gauss with an AC/10 and replaced the two LLs with their ER variants.
It does run a little hotter, but that shouldn't be a problem. AC has nearly double the ammount of shots as the Gauss did and better weapon placement ensures it doesn't lose quite as much firepower if the LT is blown. (AC/10 and two MLs as opposed to Gauss and LL/ML)

I am running 4 LL, AC20, 16 DHS, and a STD280. It runs a bit hot, but is manageable. I have been toying with the idea of 5LL and a UAC5. Has anyone tried this? I haven't had time to test it out yet.

For me, the UAC5 jammed way too often bad RNG on my part.

If you use that many lasers, I'd separate them into 2 firing groups or chain fire possibly as that will be one hot mech.

MISERY

I've been having fun with this build. Close range, but packs a nice punch.

This past evening, I got stomped by a fairly-skilled Jenner pilot and there was no response I could reasonably offer in opposition after the opposing team took down all my teammates. Still tons of fun to play!

Yea, tried the Ultra and jammed way too often to be an efficient weapon. Having a 2nd one after the 1st jams doesn't sound like a bad idea, but we only have 1 ballistic slot.

I'm finally not dying from side torso smackdown with this build...

Nope, just from overheating and getting alpha'd while powered down!
