Will UI 2.0 give us the ability to chat with our friends which are in game or spectate our friends games?
I find it very difficult/inconvenient that i cant message my friends which are already in game as sometimes would like to ask them to join for next game/ make a new lance/ etc etc.

It would be nice to be able to spectate games I agree.

I would like to have some ease on equpping a mech and switching between mechs. To this end I would like to propose the following:

-A new tab named "Warehouse" with all the items a player has and are not eqquiped on a mech. Player can sell the items he doesn't need from warehouse to store; also items he acquires from store go to warehouse (not directly to mech).
-Players will be able to create and save loadout profiles for each Mech (I think up to 3 profiles is enough for each mech). Each profile will have a list of all the items that will be equipped on a mech as well as the exact location for each item (including modules). The item pool for the loadout profiles will be the warehouse.

This way, a player first selects a mech then he selects the loadout profile to be loaded on it. If an item is missing, player will recieve a relevant message (e.g. SRM Ammo missing from warehouse). When he is finished with this mech and wishes to share equipment with other mechs, he can choose "Unload mech" option that will move all items from mech to warehouse. I believe this change will make switching between mechs an easy task with low waiting times.

You can SAY a lot of things. Seems strange that other titles dont have the same problems that PGI is claiming.

And lots of other titles just don't bother to use user content at all. Why do you think that is?

There's lots of potential pitfalls. Copyright issues, ownership, quality, it's a complicated beast. It's not insurmountable, but it requires a large group of people - designers to design how the UCC is implemented and introduced to the game, developers to implement those systems, QA to test, lawyers to hammer out the (very complex) legal ramifications.

It's doable, and if UCC is a major aspect of your platform - and it is for some titles - then they're designing their game around that from the start. They've likely got a team dedicated to UCC implementation. MWO is not one of those titles. To add it now would require their already very small team to split up more, with a large number of teammembers dedicated to UCC implementation. This would by it's nature delay introduction of such features as DX11 and Community Warfare. They can't afford anything that will delay those now.

Internal testing starts in late July. Public test mid to late August. Live late Summer.

Well I guess that's not happening.. Not sure why your asking for feedback when we can't even use it yet..

For me it looks worse, it looks like the new UI is pushing purchases over functionality. The current interface is ok (with the exception of a few missing options). It also doesn't have in your face - BUY- buttons even if there are still only a few of them.. they are smaller.

To be fair, it looks like the 'new features' train has ground to a halt. The last test was a month ago, which doesn't sound good. Unless dx11 and ui2 are going to be in this patch, untested, they're not going to be in for launch. I can't see features this being being greenlit for release on launch day patch with a chance of being untested and buggy.

I do hope they get it in next patch, they could really use the feedback from a large scale dispatch. UI2.0 is the cornerstone of all future metagame features. This and resolving the netcode are vital for the game to be not only stable but able to be analyzed without bias or junk data.

We need a pre drop room where we can add modules to our mech. This will allow PGI the opportunity to showcase consumables (or other profit generating items) prior to dropping into battle.

Modules ... are modular and do not stay attached to the mech post drop. In the pre drop room the player sees a list of available consumables along with modules they own.

They plug in the items they want and voila. No more searching for modules and PGI can sell more stuff.

New UI looks good, some nice features, loving the fact that you look like you can sort mechs by weight, price etc. a much needed feature as my mechbay is currently a total mess from where I have sold mechs and bought new ones, leading on to my question, will there be a custom filter option for how the mechs are sorted, as in, can I view all mechs and then move them around so they are viewed in the specific order that I want to view them?

Will the group creation also be a feature that has been changed, myself and my friends are finding that the grouping options, and mechanism entirely is pretty damn unfriendly, would be nice to have all online friends, and the group on one screen, and would also be nice if there wasnt ssssooooo much pointless button clicking when creating a group, believe it or not, once I've created a group, I don't need a window to pop up saying congratz, youv'e created a group, please press OK, to waste more time, lol.

Really excited for the new UI; it looks fantastic. I'd love to see it in a public test soon. But without being able to actually use it, I can't offer much constructive feedback.

Below are my comments. I browsed through the posts and did not see these items mentioned, but my apologies if any or all of them are redundant:

1. Inventory search. As a new player, by c-bill income is limited and I will not be able to purchase all the weapons and modules (6 million C-bills for seismic, ouch) for all my mechs. It would be nice to click the Large Laser weapon or Advanced Zoom module and see how many I have equipped and where (currently only shows the number in inventory unequipped).

2. Addition to mech quirks: loadout limitations. I noticed ECM, Artemis and another listed, but did not see JJ-capability and engine limit (I purchased a BJ-3 and did not notice that it was limited to 235 class engine - I had a spare XL 280 which I could not use)

3. Notice to new players of new player C-Bill bonus payouts. The first day I played, I earned enough c-bills to purchase a Cicada after about 10 matches. I wasted around 2 million c-bills switching to ferro-fibrous and endosteel, then back to standard because of slot limitation. I did not pay much attention to the loss because I thought I would earn it back in 5 or 6 matches, only to realize I was in the normal c-bill earning rate and would need several days (of casual playing) to be able to afford another medium mech.

4. Warning or tool-tip to new players about ferro-fibrous armor (or refund c-bills when switching back to standard armor). The slot penalty of ferro-fibrous armor is too severe vs the weight savings for light and medium mechs, and for several heavy mechs as well.

5. Organizable mech bay. The current UI's inability to sort the mechs in mechbay is irritating. It requires pre-planning of mech purchases (usually in sets of 3 for the bonuses) to organize the mechs.

6. Better weapon information. UAC 5 lists the same damage and cooldown as AC5, while weighing more with less ammo per ton. New players would not realize the double fire capability unless they search forums or the web. Weapon pane should state the special ability (fire 2 rounds at 20% change to jam for xx seconds). Also, it would be helpful to have weapon ammo detail (crit to explode for all ammo except gauss, for example).

Bryan, where is the Inner Sphere Galaxy Map for UI 2.0? I'm hoping for something like this for Community Warfare.

Bryan, maybe add a small digital clock to the new UI 2.0 for those late night gaming sessions. B)

I wish they would but realistically, it will hit the PTS first then rolled in the a patch or two after. Its hard to have a count down when your players are also your beta testers. But still a cool idea. What I really want to see is a star map that resembles an active situation room with planets under conflict flashing, with contracts listed, links to join drop lances and other active content. I dont want it to look like a game. I want it to look like BT.

I want to see this too. I'm guessing phase 2 or 3?

ui 2.0 looks good from the latest preview. I would like options to downscale the elements though, I found the elements very large and would myself prefer a mech2 type holo interface for look and feel. it would be nice to be able to view mechs in a detail view without having to visually see an icon of the mech in example, or to shrink the icon down.

zooming in/out on mechs would be nice with the everyscreen rotate as well.

More of a pilots "office" as maverick has posted with all this stuff loading in to that interface would be even cooler.

UI 2.0 is it real of just a ploy for more of my money  ... I have heard of this since I joined in April 2013 I still believe it not to be real. Only thing I buy is mechs and some colors because I like seeing other mechs explode B)

In other words PROOF OR DIE!!!! (on the battlefield that is)

Hrm... this is one thing that I would be missing if I had a full-screen interface - the ability to quickly look up at the system clock. It sounds small, but I'm always looking for the time (and since we all use smartphones now, who wears a watch anymore?)
