Broken Elo? Or Not Enough Players For Matching?

Lots of people I usually play MWO with have stopped dropping but maybe one or two nights so they can go play other more well done Beta's like Never Winter and Firefall. Everyone's feedback is how great those two games are and how well done everything is, especially when compared to MWO and they have no interest in playing such a poorly done beta as MWO anymore.
Have you seen and heard the same things? Does this mean PGI dropped a **** and that MWO will die out and that yet again we will be left without a Mechwarrior game, again?

My gripe is that PGI leaves obviously OP or broken mechanics to remain in game to be abused for far to long. There really isn't much mech diversity in the game right now and sniping is boring as #($%. I'm not saying we should all brawl it out...I just cannot stand all this long range meta crap. If I wanted that I could play nearly any other FPS title that offers long range weapons.
Balance, PGI. Balance in a timely fashion! No balance = no support financially.

I'm not currently playing MWO because both matchmaker and PPC balance issues make the game less fun to play. I'm just playing WoT until PGI gets these game balance issues resolved.
It seems like the population has been dropping since groups were limited to no more than 4 or exactly 8. The new 12-man group matches are going to be even more dead than the current 8-man matches due to population drop. PGI should allow group sizes to return to any number of players between 2 and 8 and just limit 1 group per team.

So far, I'm very pleased with this game.

Right now they are concerned with monetizing the game as you can see from the constant addition of premium content. If you wan't my advice check back in about six months to see if this game is playable.

The Devs fix one thing just to breat teo others and balancing does not really exists.
There is nothing to really fight for since Community AND Role Warfare does not exist.
My overall picture is that PGI does not have what it needs to make a good MWO game experience.
Otherwise the game is an endless grind to even get the C-Bills for basic things, not to speak of a new Mech.

Here's a game I played just an hour or so ago, notice the difference in team makeup?

Yep, we had 5 lights, 2 medium, and one heavy. 325 tons total.
They had one light, 2 medium, 2 heavy, and 3 assaults. 550 tons total.
That's two Atlas and a Commando in weight difference alone.
Nice matchmaking PGI...

It wasn't working right out of the game. It's worse than v2 MM (class weight balanced) and v3 MM (ELO based). You would v4 combines the best of both, but clearly it's mathematically borked.

Looks like their reorganization was successful then ... they removed the general discussion forum so there is no place for many of the not easy to categorize topics ... so folks don't know where to read them and don't know where to post them so they don't bother. If readership really is less than 10% of where it was a month ago then they truly have succeeded in killing community involvement.

I will say at least the conversations have become more rational. But having a reasonable discussion on the titanic as it's sinking is really only a silver lining.

As far as I can tell Elo has never been working as intended. Everyone said it worked fine and I was the first naysayer......and lo did we find that Elo was broken anyway.
Now with the low population and all the sniper bs it's a waste of time (like war thunder).

When I play my Raven It's all lights and honorary lights with only a hand full of heavy and assaults thrown in.
I wonder where the medium are though. Do they all hang out together?
