Lex sat in his cockpit, beads of sweat dripped down his chin. His readout showed 90 degrees celcius and his lungs felt every bit of it. As with all the other intel for this mission, of coarse the temperature predictions would be off. This lance of rag tag mercenaries had been dropped on to this god forsaken rock last week and still hadn't made enemy contact. The mission was to guard this mining facility, but for him, testing his new weapons load-out was his true goal. So many C-Bills had gone into his A1, that even now, seem all but wasted. The long range missiles that were the hallmark of the Catapults platform had been stripped off and replaced with six streak SRMs. John, the lead mechanic who worked on Lex's machines couldn't fathom the request. Now, Lex was beginning to have second thoughts himself. Just as he found what little comfort he could in his seat, the word "contact" echoed through the cockpit. At his 2 o'clock, that all too familiar pointed nose vaulted over the calderas edge. "A Raven 3L", Lex muttered to himself. Now it was time to see if his beagle active probe would function as they said it would.

Anyway, I'm excited for the BAP change. My light kill... sorry, my streak cat thanks you in advance.

Eh, the Catapult is still retardedly easy to headshot from the front and sides and it happens all the time in anything but very low elo brackets. You just don't see em anymore. It really needs to be adjusted, imo, just like the massive ct hitbox on the Awesome as well.

I had a match with Vassago Rain and suffice it to say... we're pretty much on track for the Streakpocalypse.

if srm damage doesnt change, ssrm will be the stronger of the bunch. ssrm go for CT all the time. so imo yeh bap may bring back the A1.

Squirrels? WHAT squirrels? With HSR and magic pinpoint insta-convergence, coupled with no heat scale penalties, squirrels are an endangered species.

It's the best of both worlds my friend.

I get head shot, but I still use my catapults. I just love them that much

In may 3050 twenty one, the war had just begun.
The poptarts had the biggest mechs, that had the biggest guns
The highlander was the fastest mech that ever jumped the trees.
On her arms were gauss rifles and double PPC's.
Out of the cold and foggy night came the pubbies who were no good.
And every Kong 4man, knew and understood.
They had to stop the poptarts, the terror of CTs.
Stop those arm gauss rifles and those double PPCs.
We'll find that Assault poptart that's makin such a fuss. We gotta Stop the Highlander 'cause the sphere depends on us.
Hit their mechs a-runnin boys and spin your torsos around. When we find the highlander, we gotta take her down.
Big *** found the Highlander and on that fatal day. The highlander started firing fifteen clicks away. We gotta stop the poptarts was the battle sound.
But when the smoke had cleared, they found Big *** was down.
For six long weeks and weary pubs, they tried to end this tale. Connor told the people " Use BAP and we shall not fail! "
'Cause somewhere in that mechlab the answers gotta be. We gotta sink the highlander to the bottom ELO sea.
We'll find that assault poptart thats makin' such a fuss. We gotta stop the highlander 'cause the sphere depends on us.
Hit your Streaks a-runnin boys, spin your cats around. When we find the poptarts we gotta streak them down.
The fog was gone on the seventh week and they saw the BAP patch was done. Ten minutes away from patching the highlander made its run.
The leader of the kong 4man said " Turn your owl heads around ". We found that assault poptart and we're gonna take her down.
The Catapult ears were streak'd and the missiles were comin' fast.
The first wave hit their CT, they knew they couldn't last.
That mighty poptartin' Highlander is just a memory.
" Kill the poptarts " was the battle cry that supported B.A.P.

Meh. All this hype about streakcats.

Streaks are only godly because they mostly home on CT, just like LRMs do. It’s a known issue that is going to get a fix on 21st too. The damage will be evenly spread around.

In fact, if you want to see how it will likely be, go to testing grounds and try streaking someone from behind. Less damage to CT, more to other locations, much more ammo/time spent.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think streakcats will be useless, or weak, or even of average power… but uncounterable beastmachines solo dominating mid and high Elo brackets? No.

Where did you hear this? In the last ask the devs the answer was that ssrms are working just fine. I've yet to hear from anyone working at PGI it will be fixed on the 21st. Only srms and lrms are to be fixed on the 21st that I've heard.

I'm not sure why everyone thinks streaks home in on only ct still. The one mech I use them on has the 4 missiles from the two launchers spreading out to hit all over the mech now.

Granted I've not run that mech since before the last patch so something could have reverted.

I can't wait to exploit the unbalanced super ECM/PPC/BAP/SSRM Meta on the 21st. Easy kills cometh!

i don't know what you're all waiting for. Go out, kill these lights and everone else, you can do it now, you don't need BAP. The force is strong with the A1!

I am using the A1... with varying degrees of success. It's a nice change of pace though. I think everyone here can agree that this game needs a change of pace.
