It'll also be interesting to see how much damage SSRMs get back on patch day, if any.

ppc boating makes it even more possible than before on some maps, as most of them are too busy hill humping to keep track of you (assuming you built the mech with mobility as you should have)
Edit: that said the c4's and jm6-a's mixing 4 of em with large energy weps will probably do better.

36 hits do more damage than 12 hits, but 12 hits are always better than 36 misses.
Can you aim?
Yes The reason I'm asking is I'm currently running around in a 2x LPL 4xSRM6+A stalker and I was curious if it was worth changing the SRMs for Streaks. Doing just fine with the SRMs so far.

I don't quite get why a return of Streakcats should affect Jump-Snipers in any way, though, given that they operate on completely different ranges. If anything, we'll see more of both in an effort to dominate long and short range encounters, thus displacing more conventional designs for lack of "efficiency".

Exactly, it'll just mean you're either in a Highlander or an a1. There won't be much variety. Might have to get myself into the catapult scene...

Stalkers can pack nearly as many streaks as an A1 AND have a massive PPC alpha.

Again it will be imbalanced for a while but the light class will finally need to be balanced around something other than a magical off switch. Start buffing their narc beacons so that they can finally bring back indirect fire support.
The game needs options to deal with the assault blobs. Lights are supposed to be a part of those options.
But I certainly don't miss the days of light mechs running around while an entire lance tries in vain to stop them.

I'm not too knowledgeable on how NARC currently works. I know it provides basically the same bonus as TAG.
Do you need to keep LOS on the NARC'd target, or does the NARC itself make the mech targetable by friendlies? If it's the former, narc is strictly inferior to tag. If it's the latter, narc is a neat way to help track enemy movement and/or assist indirect fire. It'll only matter once they do their missile update, though.

I'm not saying a 90 degree straight down arc that would be crazy. But essentially once you got narced you either take the hits until the NARC falls off after the damage amount is passed or find a sheer cliff or building to hide against.

Do regular PPCs disable ECM when a hit is scored under 90m? Just wondering as idk.
