Thanks for that Nomad, I meant to say that myself. I'd rather not hop from one briefing straight into another so I was hoping people could fill *some* of the intervening time between February and the 12th of May with reflections on the existing briefing, training, getting plastered...whatever. The Achille's Pride will be being transferred between a whole bunch of Jumpships; what's known as a Jump Circuit. Instead of the usual 2 week wait, the wait between jumps will be anywhere from a week to just a few hours as the dropship is transferred over. On the 17th of May, you'll arrive on Coventry and be transferred to the RAI Invader class dropship The Drunkard's Walk.

Did you mean March here Rogue, instead of May?

Going to take a bit of liberty with the vagueness and have the Pride transfer mechs and materials over to the Walk and then make another quick supply run down to and back from Coventry. Will give an excuse to have people do anything they want planetside.

Based on time frames I've gathered from the books, if we've jumped in system on 29th, it'll take almost 48 hours to burn from the Nadir or Zenith point to the planet, meaning we'll be on the ground for just one day (enough to conduct business) on the 31st. We'd then burn back to the jump point and be ready to depart on 3rd April.

It looks like Coventry orbits a class F4 star, and according to Sarna, a one gravity acceleration round trip from one of the standard jump points would take just over 32 days.

Well that sounds like a load of sh*te. Stick with the two day transit.

Mmm. 2 days of 16Gs. I think I'll wait on the jumpship, thanks. :)

Not for the dropship, certainly. Unions only have a safe thrust of 1.5Gs and a max of 2.5Gs.

Also, I did mean May. Takes a while to get from Outreach to Coventry, even by circuit. I also don't think a 32 day trip makes any sense at all. The class of star shouldn't make too much difference, should be how far the planet is from the star. According to Sarna, 16 days. I'm thinking a hard burn of 3gs reduces that to 5 days each way, but The Drunkard's Walk is sort of used to pirate points. 5 days in, 1 day out.

Your last post in the RP thread has us in Coventry as of March 29th.

The class of star makes a huge difference. Larger, more energetic stars not only push the standard jump points much farther out, but also push the habitable planets farther away from the star, so it's a double whammy.

Red dwarfs may have transit times in the 48 hour range, while blue giants may have one way, jump point to planet transit times of almost two months.

Ah gotcha. To be honest? I need to go and look at my notes again. When I think about it, I think I had to cheat some times to fit my schedule. I'm kinda sh*tfaced at the moment.

Personal Quarters,
Fortress Class Dropship, Rorke's Drift,
Coventry, Lyran Alliance,
29th March, 3061, 19:22 Hours,

Vantas sipped at a glass of port while he reviewed his Angels most recent results in their new machines. Bacons linebreaker lance was beginning to adapt better to their machines from their progress, but he remained unconvinced Bacon was used to his ride yet rather than simply getting used to the simulation. He marked down the whole sim to be reworked.
By himself.
Once he'd had enough port to sustain his will to live throughout the ordeal.
He sighed. Lucifers Bane seemed to be improving though. The kinks with it's weapons systems seemed to be ironing themselves out, hopefully it would be as vile on the battlefield as he imagined.
Adept Smith's knock on the door was a welcome distraction. He flipped the dataslate towards the electromagnet that served as his desk. "Come in."
The Adept entered, garbed in white robes with a black banding. The banding was embroidered with a nordic crimson patterning couple with several ComStar icons. He bowed, the gesture causing his robes to fold unnaturally in the nigh nonexistent gravity field. "Master Frankfurt's unit has arrived in system sir."
Vantas perked up, pushing himself to his feet. "Excellent. Have him and his men transferred through to us once they've docked with The Drunkard's Walk. Inform Admiral Cochrane to prepare for jump, if he isn't already."
The adept bowed again and left, Captain Vantas Strider cracked his knuckles and leaned back into his chair. Perhaps Thom could be convinced to help with the new simulations after seeing his new ride.

Rogue, you want me to post away with T heading on over in a shuttle or you want to start kicking some PM RP your way?

EDIT: Master Frankfurt... I like that.

@Nomad Response post up. :)

Have plenty more written for Coventry, will wait for this scene to be over before posting it up though. Best interests of the timeline in mind and all that

Oh Mr. GM... is it alright if I get creative and flex a little creative might? I have a decent idea for a (some?) post just wanting the green light before hand.

Nothing crazy, so don't worry about me derailing any plans you have.
