Let the Unseen thing die already... I personally don't like the designs of them anyway.

Of course you wouldn't.

I have actually never had any problems with importing any of the yamato valks I own currently. The one thing i do have a problem with is being able to get a decent blu ray or dvd.

Haha, that makes no sense, but ok. Since the Unseen wasn't even drawn by FASA I consider it non-canon.

In 1996, several court cases came to a point which concerned FASA's rights to certain images taken from japanese anime series. Apparently, a third party had sold artwork to FASA that they had no legal right to sell; it turned out that FASA might thus not actually have acquired the legal rights to use these graphics from them after all despite having paid for the rights. Said graphics were the visual images of a number of "classic" BattleMech models, 'Mechs which have been described as the "bedrock" of BattleTech and which had been depicted on numerous product covers including the classic BattleTech boardgame.
The cases were settled out of court, and the parties involved agreed to keep the exact details of the settlement secret. The 'Mechs in question became the "Unseen": They remained legal playing pieces, but must not be depicted on any FASA products. Losing this iconic BattleTech imagery was a serious blow to FASA, who had to discontinue numerous products or change the cover artwork.

Had to be [REDACTED] so is now non-canon.

Q. Will the unseen Mechs make it into the game after all?

A. Look forward to a future announcement.

Oh good, I was wondering how long it would before I read something totally absurd on a forum.

I just... what? I mean, okay, you don't like the Unseen. But that's... I mean, that is some serious weird logic leap you're making there. Especially since there was TOTALLY FASA drawn Unseen art (Hell, my old box set is just FULL of goofy pictures of Marauders and Battlemasters, all of which were art for the game).

awesome

Called a FAQ.

Pretty much, they are well aware of the Unseen and that /alot/ of us want to see them. /IF/ there was no chance in hell to be able to do them, they wouldn't dance around the subject and would just come out and say 'no, we can't do them'. There is no advantage to string folk along. All I am going to say is don't be shocked if you see them at launch.

Oh Yeah, Harmony Gold

Contrary to all the press and speculation that Harmony Gold was getting in the way of a deal or development, this had no impact whatsoever on development or signing a deal for MechWarrior.
