Same here. I've crashed now 6 games in a row. My record is playing about 2 mins before the crash to the mechlab. Surprised there hasn't been a patch rollback or announcement.

I continue to get the crash to desktop upon entering a game about every 10-20 games. It happens particularly in groups... no warning, no reason, just crashes...

For all that did not read the other thread:

Check your omicron file, you can find it in

Crash to desktop at launch of match. It has happened 2 out of 8 matches. Every time I was in an Ilya with the new seismic sensor. Here is the last lines of the Omicron file:

Yes for me it is more rampant when I am in group. I maybe get 1 game and next one is always a crash to mechlab. My problem is so bad now ( was annoying at times before but never this rampant ) that I have to quit the game for awhile and my clan. I can't play basically at all at this point and I have run out of options. Did all the things above and more. I have now given up hope of playing.

No problems for me but two friends of mine can´t play at all since 21st! Every time they start a game, it´s all loading up and such and then BANG back to mechlab screen. They both can start the Testing Grounds and play there without any problems but as soon as they launch a normal game the fun is over.
On their behalf, please fix this soon-ish - I brought em to the game and they both are close to never touch it again...

BTW - I´ve never played as many 6vs8 games (due to ppl crashing) as in the last three days.

Aaaand more coming! That is one out of 4 in a row now. It starts to really annoy because your teammates really suffer from this.

As I’ve already said in my previous message, game crashing back to the mechlab in my case looks to be related to packet loss. Here’s a part of my Omicron.log:
Spoiler

To solve the problem I’ve tried using public DNS services (Google Public DNS and OpenDNS) and VPN services (CyberGhost and Free Canada VPN), but nothing works. All ends up in this black hole: border1.te9-1-bbnet2.tor001.pnap.net [70.42.24.196], which seems to be located in Toronto.

One thing I don’t get: if I try connecting from different parts of the world using VPN (Canada, London, US), why do I always end up in one place? Why other people can connect play, but I can not?

1. Connecting using Free Canada VPN and Google DNS:
Spoiler

2. Connecting using CyberGhost (Server London-S01-104 IP: 79.141.161.16) and Google DNS:
Spoiler

3. Connecting using CyberGhost (Server LosAngeles-S01-I01 IP: 37.221.175.35) and Google DNS:
Spoiler

P.S. Everything was OK until this patch. My usual ping it the game is about 150. There are some members on my team, who have much worse ping and are still able to play. Reinstalling the game and running everything at the default settings did not help either.

I've consistently crashed to either desktop or back to mechlab whenever playing any mech.  Neither result gives any error message.  I've reduced the system spec settings to medium (from high), and there was no change.  Each time it was once the mech was moving.  map does not seem to matter.

Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
-None
Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
- Once play started, no other correlating factors.
What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
- Mech movement, no other correlating factors.
Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
- Yes
What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
- Set to default high values, but has also been tested and issue continues on default medium values.
- 1680 x 1050 full window, as second monitor, motion blur off, direct x 9, v-sync off
What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler]
- win 7 ultimate service pack 1
- core2 quad q8400 @2.66GHz
- 4 gigs ram
- nvidia geforce GTX 550 Ti driver version 311.06 not overclocked
Edit:  Have now played three full matches without a crash since turning anti-aliasing off.

  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
No
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
1 Crash to Desktop, no error message

Several Game Freezes, mostly at the beginning of a match, fewer times during the match. ctrl-alt-del and taskmanager needed to end the game and restart. On Patchday only the CTD, after that I played several games without problems. Yesterday was absolutely unplayable, at least every 2nd match the game froze. Had that also before the last patch!
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
I tried deleting the Shades folder and ran the repair tool several times. No errors there but didn't help anyway. Tried different detail settings, no change.
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
Nothing to repeat, occurs regardless of any changes
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Resolution 1920 x 1200, tried different video settings.
  • What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler]
Win7 Ultimate x64
Asus P5Q Deluxe
Intel C2D E8400
8GB RAM
Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 1GB

Mouse issues.

Since the last patch I seem to be having mouse issues.

I have a Logictech MX518 running on Windows7 16GB ram.

When using the mouse of of game, I have no problems with the mouse, clicking buttons within the browser, or icons works fine (single clicks).

When I run the game, I seem to get major latency or non-event registery. I seem to have to double click most things. More so ingame than out.
- Social Button
- Mech selection
- Loadout (under Mechlab)
---- Equiping and unequiping stuff from a mech.

I am running a Intel processor i3770 with an Nvidia 660 graphcis card and the system barely seems taxed. I have the game loaded on a Samsung 225GB SSD.

Again I only recently noticed this.I thought it was my configuration for MWO (which I had for the mouse) so I deleted that, and went back to basic mouse settings, but no change.

Anyone having the Malformed packet loss issue and crash to mechlab like I have had badly lately should try what others suggested on here. Use the http://cyberghostvpn.com/ VPN free version. So far no disconnects from client but more testing needed. Worth a try. I do believe there is something going on between the path from my location in Colorado to their servers in Toronto.

My assumption that game crashes to the mechlab in my case were mainly caused by packet loss (bad routing) was wrong. One of my teammates, who has worse game ping than I, told me that he can play, even though when he runs tracert all requests are timed out after this hop: border1.te7-1-bbnet1.tor001.pnap.net [70.42.24.132].

I reinstalled the game (for the 3-rd time), but now to the default folder in Windows 7 x64: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\", and have been able to play 10 games in a row just fine, although when I ran tracert all requests were timed out after the mentioned hop. Now I’ve also changed some game options, restarted the game several times. Everything works OK.

Well Profan thanks for that idea cause so far it worked. I will give it a real test tonight when the servers are at peak time. Everything before failed even re-installing to the default path like you said. So I'm gonna keep trying the cyberghost VPN connection unless it fails as well.

After patch I get "FRead did not read expected number of byte from file, only 128 of 0 bytes read".

I read in some forum posts that the fix is to re-install from scratch. Is this the only way to fix this? The game needs a tool that can zero in on the corrupted file at issue and just fix that file...

Update: I've managed to actually start to play a couple matches now. I've noticed rubber-banding that I've never had before. My ping, both in the MWO client and in general, is very low. Most of my matches still crash on load, and the few I've actually played in crash before the end as well.

All those fun steps like running the repair tool and such have done nothing for me.

Bad netcode?

Same here, ran the repair tool and it found errors to fix, but did nothing for the rubber-banding. Regularly crashing out of matches back to the mechlab (lost connection messages).

I found out switching off all my anti virus and firewalls that my 5second ping does down to 220ms (where it used to be 130ms).This has to be done prior to loading the game because doing it while running doesn't work.
