Too Far With The Lrms

Just last night I was on Canyon Network, a paradise for LRM boats everywhere I hear, and I traveled the canyon network, keeping my head down, and got behind the enemy LRM nest. Killed three of them with nothing but lasers and my team went on to win the game. Stop complaining and start thinking about why you keep dying. Every time missiles came my way, I ducked into a canyon, or behind a rock outcropping. When facing streak cats and other missile-laden mechs, I would circle, making a point to go behind boulders and other outcroppings to break their locks. This had the added benefit of buying me time to cool down. It took some hit and run, but at the end of the match I was caked in yellow damage, had slain three enemies, assisted in the death of a fourth, and had hundreds of damage to show for it.
This isn't a twitchy, fast-paced shooter, you need to think about strategy. Posters before me have already posted a half-dozen different methods to get around LRMs. It's good advice. Follow it and watch as your LRM-related deaths dwindle dramatically.

Do not use Artemis. Do not use TAG. Do not use NARC.

problem is in the other thing. any mech with missile slot usually equipped with LRM there. even with useless LRM5. saw today x-5 with 2 LRM's (5 or 10 don't remember for sure). and that's the problem. so i'd say, it should be not allowed to equip LRM to every mech.

This is the problem. I barely post about anything but this is it. LRM's turn 90 degrees to hit you in the center torso. I have been directly behind buildings taller than my mech and missiles come overhead, turn 90 degrees, slide between the building and my mech, and hit and core only my center torso.
Without Artemis, Tag, or NARC, they hit the center torso. 60 missiles does 54 damage to the center torso.

However, this is not taking into consideration organized team play, 4 man drops, and not having certain weapon/module/equipment like ECM/LRM added to Match Making for the Pug experience.
I fully agree about the ECM being added to MM. Not much is more frustrating than an entire team with No ECM against an enemy team full of them.

Every fool on the planet is trying to play them because of boredom and due to people on the forums claiming they are op.
Have you all gotten so lazy or out of practice that you don't remember how to kill them? Seriously?
Lrm's have been far far far more powerful for a year until just a few months ago.
Go out and enjoy clubing the baby seals who are uselessly using lrms.
If you want to nerf anything nerf the ability of stalkers to boat lrms. That is really the only serious balance issue currently. It is consistently coming down to the ability of the stalker to boat weapons and the trouble that creates for balancing weapons on an individual basis.

You can fall in and bend to the new meta or treat it as a challenge.... how to best hunt and kill theses LRM boating ********.
i'm using my tag and 4x MG's may move over to something with ECM for that extra spicy F you. its provided some very interesting, intensives game play the last 2 nights.

Missiles have no spread, all of them hit the center torso. Along with people aim botting for CT since it's the weakest area, you die pretty damn fast if you aren't going ton to ton against another player as you will either be cored by PPC's, AC's or SSRM's and then it's all over.

I'd also consider increasing the crit factor of missile systems and anywhere the ammo is and consider removing case's ability to protect the mech from chain reaction explosions. Missiles are carrying explosives and a mech with 2000 of them when crit on an ammo box should go up like 4th of July fireworks accidentally set off, sending spinning missiles everywhere and possibly damaging nearby mechs. That's something that I haven't seen implemented, secondary explosions in mechs which may damage nearby mechs. That would stop everyone from bunching up so often.
I'd really like to see the mech specs open-sourced and published so we know when they are tweaking a mech you just spent a lot of money and time configuring and now all of a sudden it's getting trashed like it has paper armor...

Take the hint, this is not HALO or CoD were everyone grabs the one awesome gun out of 30 crap guns and blows each other away in a mindless orgy of neanderthal inspired violence. There is no such thing as a perfect weapon or perfect strategy in Battletech or Mechwarrior. EVERY weapon requires skill and strategy versus natural ability or blind luck. If you don't believe me, try it. Almost all LRM boats are helpless at close range. A Commando can bring down a Catapult LRM boat if done right, I know from experience. I suck with LRM's, but I know how to kill LRM boats

Imho by being patient and choosing where and when you fight is the key against LRMs. Too often you see both teams locked in trench warfare shooting LRMs and PPC/gauss at each other, then someone grows frustrated and charges ahead dying a horrible death his last words echoing in the air "OMFG LRM so OP". Why not start running left or right and try to flank enemies?

If you don't think LRMs are a problem now, you haven't noticed everyone and their mothers are now packing LRM launchers. Sometimes the air traffic is comical. Exactly the same thing happened the last time a patch momentarily buffed trajectory and damage (and the time before that).
Devs have said they will re-nerf the buffed, nerfed, buffed. nerfed, buffed, nerfed, buffed LRMs. Again. Pretty much end of the debate, surely? (as previously posted, see http://mwomercs.com/...93#entry2369593 for explination...)
BTW, do we need three threads for this mostly pointless (considering there are upcoming changes) topic?

Why would you ever prefer that the autoaiming, skill-bereft weapon be the one that's unbalancing the game, rather than the one which requires great skill, timing, caution, and just raw effort and SQUINTING? LRM and SSRM are so much worse than any 5 PPC stalker or AC40 jaegar. At least those mothers actually AIMED at you.
