Buddy of mine has the same issue. He cannot use VOIP. It will D/C him randomly. However integrated VOIP doesn't work. When playing PS2 or STO which have VOIP protocols, it will randomly drop. You will still face these issues if they integrate a VOIP into MWO.
Actually what will happen is you will D/C from MWO even if you don't use it yourself if it were ever added.
The fix isn't a ISP (my friend uses the same ISP I do, and you as well). Its the router/switch or modem itself needs to be updated or replaced. Either that or something in your OS settings and/or firewall. Its something you can fix yourself if you're the head of the household.
I can play Natural Selection 2, CS:S, and Team Fortress 2 all night, and all day tomorrow, using the integrated voice chat, with solid ping and not a single drop. I play APB reloaded, Starcraft, Borderlands 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Torchlight II, DIablo III, and many, many others using Teamspeak(or Mumble) with no connection issues whatsoever at all. Just saying. If those games can do it....
As a matter of fact:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/dude42 -- Not a single game out of well over 100 has connectivity issues. And that's just my steam account. I'd also like to add that none of the games on my Origin account, nor my Battle.net account have any issue. Nor do any of the ones I have boxed versions of. And I use TS a LOT. I like to talk to friends and play.
