A Jenner hero mech would make an amazing memorial for her. I support this idea and I'll be spreading the word to the rest of the members of the c3 Gaming Team.

Get 'em good!

If ALL proceeds went to her family and cancer research respectively, I'd buy it immediately.

Since she loved SSRMs, it should have 4-6 missile slots and 2 laser slots for tag lasers. Also, it should have extra arm actuators so it can target stuff more easily.

Damn shame we lost a Mech Warrior to real life tragedy. However you are doing an incredibly insulting act asking for a Hero Mech in Sarah's name. Or at least asking the wrong thing.

If you want to truly provide in memory of Sarah. You would donate directly to her family.

If you want to donate to a foundation that could perhaps prevent future victims, You would give to
a cancer center.

If you want an ingame shrine to honor Sarah. Then ask for a small simple free in-cockpit plague with her name displayed.

It is the most realistic and tactful option. Asking for a hero mech and paying PGI for the time investment it would take to pump out a new mech variant. Means most of that money, which could be going to someone that actually is connected to Sarah directly, would be tied up in dev costs. No they will not just 'donate' it. Or 'give a portion of the profits'. That is asking them to dedicate a whole new venue stream into a separate account and it honestly has so many fair usage rights and morality issues that PGI would never put their hands on it.

No company wants the label of using a dead cancer victim as a means of generating profits. No matter how small they may be.

If PGI wants to give us a means to show our support of Sarah then a small easily created cockpit item would be the most logical. Being easy to create and small enough they would be willing to create and dispense it for free. Just for Sarah's sake. A whole mech is asking a damn lot and is more player focused reward then actual shrine to a fan of the game.

So have to agree with this. There are much better ways to to go about this.

The reason why PGI haven't really reacted on the idea yet (appart from individuals) is prolly becuase its problematic as stated here above.

I've been thinking about this for about a day now, and even if the family is OK with it, a mech might be too much ... my previous recommendations for the hero Jenner are not withdrawn, however, and I would buy one.

I would also buy a special Jenner skin, a specially painted Jenner dashboard model, an angel bobble head, a yellow ribbon hanging item, a special paint color, or anything else PGI comes up with to honor this little mechwarrior's life and struggle and support a good cause.

Edit: spelling/grammar

First thing's first....

Will this be tax deductible?

I've already posted this in another thread, but I'm going to post it in this thread, in case it hasn't been posted already. I think this is an helpful view in regards to the discussion about the idea of connecting charitable donations to a commercial product.
TED talks: The way we think about charity is dead wrong

I personally don't have any strong opinon on whether this should be a hero mech, a special camo or a cockpit item, but I do think that some alternatives are likely to generate a greater income than others. If the goal is to get money for cancer research, then the actual numbers should be a pretty big concern.

I also have not decided if I'll be buying this, whatever it is, but I do think it's a great idea.

unless 100% of the proceeds go to cancer research then i think it is bordering on criminal for a company to make profit from a little girls death. the sentiment is a nice one im not arguing with that, but it has to be all or nothing. for example 50% going to cancer research is not good enough.

Huge has the best idea having a small plaque in the cockpit would be a good way to show respect.

the easiest solution for pgi would be to give each MWO player a free cockpit plaque so that players can redeem them with a code. this would avboid the whole revenue/profit problem that pgi would run into

100% to research. C'mon, how much time would it take you to fix up a new config for a Jenner? No profits, otherwise it's sick.

And another fistbump to our homegirl. I bet she's tearing the back armour off Jesus as we speak.

If we can afford to be charitable, PGI definitely can; no profit--100% charity mech.

I will buy such 'mech.

And, if i may suggest, additional way - "charity items" for cockpit. Same idea, but little more versatile.

Maybe a angel bobble like Dawn, maybe a guardian angel sun visor clip on hanging on a chain.

Please make the mc amount for he mech = one of the purchasable levels.

If they wanted to keep wih the trend amongst hero mechs they could give it 3 missile slots (2 CT, 1 head), and 2 laser slots (arms), with more actuators in the arms than other jenners, so it can sweep the targeting reticule from side to side as well as up and down.

Default load out would have 3x ssrm2s, 1 TAG laser, and 1... Uh... Something else . Oh, and AMS. I'd be tempted to say 2, but that might be a bit much. With just one it would still be inferior to the raven3l in that has one less energy slot and no ECM, but the arm actuators and trollmando number of ssrm slots should keep it competitive.

Good for the cancer research and Sarah, good for PGI's PR, I see no downside to doing this.

I wouldn't mind rocking a mech with the cancer awareness logo on the shoulders
