Every transaction could be - if the player choose so - generate a fee (1% MC) ...that will be donated.
Similar to the founder badge a - charity badge could be created - marking all mechwarriors that are "fighting for a better future" Good publicity for sure.
The charity should change once every two months, with a special charity fight weekend or similar.

its great to see another Ranger support on this fundraiser...
I like the idea of different color jets but i think pure white and or gold would be better for the angel wings but pink would work too great idea bloodnor +1

Don't care what it comes with, or if they'res any xp or Cbill bonus. Build it, and I'll buy it.
I also think it needs her slogan on the side, that would be classic.

However, I believe it should be altered into a commemorative cockpit item, such as a ribbon, as has already been proposed, or perhaps a nameplate. This makes it much easier to repeat the offer should such a tragedy ever befall one of us again - and yes, this whole thing does set a precedent; make no mistake about all of this being brought up again in the future.
Additionally, a cockpit item also circumvents the drama that invariably comes with future balancing discussions. Do you, who profess their wishes to honor this girl's memory, really want to see a 'Mech dedicated to her become the subject of internet debates about whether it is "OP" and should be "nerfed" or not? Complete with people raging about how they got shot down by one, or others declaring they will now target this model first? Or its pilots abusing the girl's name to defend their 'Mech, even if it is overpowered? Already, I have seen comments regarding the pro's and con's of Streak Missiles in this thread. Great job.
I'm not even going to comment on real world tragedies leading to the implementation of features obviously not fitting into the game's world, such as pink colored or rainbow-sprouting jump-jets...
Please, think twice about this. There are less controversial options here.
And as for the people who are concerned about "not being seen" with this ... apart from a remark that dead players can actually spectate your cockpit in all its customized glory, I would then also question your motif for spending MC on this in the first place, if the memory and the act apparently is not enough for you. Do you want to remember this girl (and see her name in your cockpit every time you play), or do you rather want to force her memory on others? Or do you simply wish to carry it around like an advertisement self-praising your supposed generosity and kindness?
tl;dr: +1 for a cockpit item, but -1 for a 'Mech or a Paintjob

This is why it needs to be a 1:1 copy of the mech she piloted and not in any way a new chassis.
Calling it OP would merely showcase the unfathomable idiocy of whoever makes the accusation for all to see.
All other things are normal ingame occurences that all of us have to deal with at some point once a certain "reputation" is established, including herself if she were still here.

Be it a new Hero-Mech or an already known variant with hero bonus. Be it a decoration item or a paint job. I'd even take a one-time-name-change exclusive for jenners and the name must be Sarah.

I mean, selling a 'Mech with a locked loadout likely would not be very popular (and unlike some optimists in this thread, I have my doubts about people's priorities), in addition to being redundant (given that you could just as well replicate this loadout by yourself). Also, if you release an extra 'Mech every time a member of the community or a member of their family dies, you may, over time, create an unnecessary "clutter" in the various tabs and charts, both in the game as well as on this and other websites.

For me, essentially yes. maybe a small c-bill and /or XP bonus, but the point to me is the tribute factor, to keep her spirit and playstyle alive in the game, and changing loadouts IMO defeats that purpose entirely.... Those that only want the paint should be able to purchase it separately (also allows flexibiility in donation size), or something similar /related. This would satisfy those that want to show support but don`t want to be "forced" to adapt to a configuration they don`t enjoy.
For example: An EVH "Frankenstein" or Randy Rhoads "Concorde" /"Shortwing" guitar is also a tribute per se, it`s not a guitar you massively adapt to your playstyle, but rather you adapt your playstly to fit it and /or just jam on old Van Halen /Ozzy riffs all day.
I see the possibility of proliferation, but on the other hand feel that most of us will not invoke the same response from the community when we die. With all due respect to everyone else, most of us are not surprisingly young and dying of an incurable and horrible disease but still making the most of what time we still have, doing what we love until we can`t anymore
Also, the Champion Jenner and Dragon can also be recreated 100% without paying money, but still sell well from what I understand, despite the (imo laughable) 5% XP bonus....

I know you're worried about this being turned into something wrong. All of us are, on some level. And yes, there would be need to ensure that this mech is balanced, and I'm actually for it being either a champion-type situation, or the devs making very, very sure that this would not be overpowered. I'm just not discussing it now, because that's not what this thread is for.
This is just to try to ensure that they do something.
Everything mentioned, from the paint schemes to the dashboard items to the statue in River City, have all sounded great, and they have all showed that everyone here is concerned with properly memorializing her. I started a thread about the Jenner because the announcement thread stated that she lived her Jenner, and because a few of us threw around the idea, and it sounded good.
I have to trust that, whatever is done, PGI and the community will do it with grace, delicacy, and above all, respect. I have to trust that the memory of this girl and her poor family are enough to keep everyone on the straight and narrow on this one.
I'm glad that Sarah and her family mean enough to you for you to worry about this, though. It means that this thread is doing what it's supposed to.

Lets be respectful to each other, everybody.
Nice gesture, but no.
They may feel strongly, but it's like posting an equal sign as your /fb/ pic that week people 'cared'.
The fact that the 5yo girl played Mechwarrior online sounds dubious. But I do understand that can happen. What I DON'T get, is how so many people are jumping at the chance for yet another hero 'mech in the name of some girl they've never heard of until the idea was started.
If the girl dies of cancer, we collectively go "Oh man, that's bad. Oh well, back to our lives.". But mention she liked MWO and it's all of a sudden OMG LETS MAKE MECH GRAB DEAL

Its good to see some emotion on these forums. Although I didn't know Sarah. I do know the story of cancer all to well. Defiantly puts life into perspective. Every time I hit launch I will say a prayer for the faithful departed...
Get 'em Good!
