Do not get your hopes up ladies. Triple AC 20 will not be possible on this mech if the developers wish to keep it canon.
According to this record sheet I have found, the dual Machine guns are apparently located in the legs, one in each. The developers, if they even plan to put this variant out, would have to either implement weapon hard points in the legs or change their location. As you all know, AC 20s have never, and will never fit in the leg of any mech.

Leg mounts aren't gonna happen. I expect them to simply put them in the center torso- problem solved.

We will have to see. I personally do not see how there would be any conflicts of implementing weapon hard points in the legs since it is apparently canon. Either way though, triple AC 20 on this mech is a no go.

Why? because now there's not a huge wait before it actually is put into the game.

:( This...though I had hoped for and predicted the Banshee I will definately be buying the Victor. My work will take me away for the month of June so when I come back home it's "GAME ON!". :)

Gotta say, not what I was expecting to see. But certainly an interesting choice.

This sucker will appeal to medium/heavy pilots looking to up the tonnage and have more of an impact on the battlefield, the same way that Awesomes currently do. They'll be faster than any other assault machine (save two specific variants, at this point) and the jump jets will give them unmatched mobility for the class. Yes, they look like underweight Highlanders/jumped-up Centurions on paper, but frankly I'm already trying to figure out how to deal with an 85-kph AC/20 backed by assault 'Mech armor being able to drop in on me whenever it damn well feels like. That's not a pleasant thought.

We already have an 80-ton 'Mech with a 320-rated stock engine and the resulting speed profile - the AWS-9M. The 9M is well known for being almost disgustingly nimble for its size and making a surprisingly effective mobile hitter in the hands of pilots willing to put the time in. My brother splits his time between Awesomes and Cataphracts, and I've seen him do wicked, wicked things with his 9M. Give him a machine with the 9M's armor and speed, jump jets, and the close-combat armament of his favorite Cataphracts? Heh...he's already better than I am, but after that I'll never catch up.

I'm still surprised that we got the Victor after already getting the Highlander...but I think I'm a fan of the decision. Especially if it lives up to that concept art and doesn't end up with little-girl arms like the poor Highlander did.

They'd be frustrating to players because they'd USUALLY hit cover they're looking over. They're not in now, they're far from a highly desired feature, there's no space in legs for much customization,, 95% of the people playing the game could care less about cannon., and machine guns in legs would be the only way to make machine guns more useless than they are now. If they had to pay the janitor for an extra hour of work programming the capability in for leg mounted weapons it would be a serious waste of money. We will have to see indeed.

A 62 KPH dual AC20 Assault mech with 4 Medium Lasers and Jump Jets. Speaking for myself though, cannot say anything about the others.

imo the only variant worth noting, the variant pictured by PGI is abysmal (Although I can almost promise you the most common form of that mech we will see is dual gauss and 3 ppc's and dual gauss and 2 ppc's)

Nice looking Mech and I do think a lot of player will love it,as for me I have 3 Hero mechs and don't need to blow more Cbill or MC on Mechs.
I mite pick it up with some new toys ones MWO is out of Beta and Clan mechs are in play.

The concept of this variant is just devastating. I have used similar variants in the past with Mechwarrior predecessor games. Mechwarrior 4 Mektek for instance. Try using an Executioner (Gladiator) with Jump jets, 2 Assault Lasers, 2 UAC20s, and 2 Rocket Launchers. For hit and run brawling at 62 KPH (I calculated the susceptibility of the speed by using the Awesome 8Q as something to compare it to as far as the engine is concerned as the engine charts for all mechs this game with the same tonnage is the same) with 2 AC 20 and 4 mediums Lasers to be put into this game will be beyond devastating when it comes to close range quarter combat. Let your Atlas' take point, stay behind them, and jump over their heads to alpha strike on the designated target. A 60 point Alpha strike is something you DO NOT want to ignore in such engagements.

Not the Banshee or the Zeus or the King Crab? I am somewhat disappointed.

So, this is important now: what can the Victor do that the Highlander can't? I'm not really seeing all that much. As another question: what can an Awesome do that a Victor can't?
