The point is not to get another sniper, but to get a way to create one of the most iconic mechs of them all, the Rifleman.
Even Mad Cat technically pales in comparison.

I never let something as mundane as line of sight get in the way of the application of dakka. As long as ye olde target reticule lights up, the finger must stay on the trigger!

Also on a separate rant. When are they going to go back to giving us a little bit of lore with these things instead of just slapping a pretty paint job on a bill and calling it a day. When they first started going off cannon for Heros I was fine with it. Because those first few all had written stories that made them part of the fluff, Expanded the universe. Now i just feel like I'm being marketed to and I want to go back to not seeing behind the curtains.

Its just I was hoping for a hero spider or raven to join my death's knell but I shall wait.
Here is an idea pgi, release 2 or 3 hero lights at once so that you can still rake in the same kind of money that you would when releasing heroes for larger weight classes. Make me want to spend my mc and even buy more.
I agree with this wholeheartedly. We have, what, one Hero light and one Hero Medium?

Heck, my jager A right now is built as a smaller, weaker Orion just to get me used to the style of a mixed "trooper" loadout (LRM 15, 2 MLAS, AC 10, SRM 4). Even with the weak SRM's I've been shocked how often they are the one that puts enemies down when I get stuck in a brawl.

I'm sure they'll add a hero mech for you one day, perhaps it will have puppies and rainbows painted on it. Nobody would dare shoot at puppies!

Yeah, I hate when video games include bad guys.
[also, did ya not notice the YLW paint job? or the Jenner, most famous for its role on Kentares? or the entire Capellan faction? what about the "space vikings," real vikings ***** and pillaged their way across Europe. Smoke Jaguar will be in the game... ever hear about Edo.]

I think he means that he fears for his actual, mortal soul IRL because the Firebrand bares the image of the beast and images meant to evoke imagery from the abyss (which sounds totally bad *** when you word it like that!). Yes, the notion that your soul is forfeit due to guilt by association for something as trivial as playing a game in a virtual landscape which bares an image of the devil. An image, mind you, which was created by the church towards the beginning of the last millennium which was inspired more by antisemitism and the need to convert/persecute others (Lucifer was supposed to be the most beautiful of the angels after all). If anything the image is offensive because it represents the evils committed by man in the name of conformity and power, not the evils committed by a being who tempts the souls of mortal men. But I'm not that of Atheist. I really don't care.
In fact, not only do I not find it offensive I think it looks really cool! I think it fits as far as the game and the lore goes too. If I was a bad *** mech pilot I'd also have a paint job meant to intimidate others.

So what offends you exactly, then? The imagery itself? What it represents (and what parts)? The fact that someone sees something you see as absolute as something more trivial? Part of living in a free society is dealing with the fact that no everyone subscribes to you world view. What you believe is no more valid than what I do because you believe it or because your belief comes from an ancient book.
I do, however, respect your right to believe it just as I respect PGI's right to use the imagery. I also respect your right to be outraged. It is also your choice to leave the game should you feel that it is in conflict with your beliefs just as it is PGI's choice to use what ever imagery it wishes to.
But I must ask you this. What is it about shooting and killing virtual people in a violent simulation that is any less offensive than an image of the devil in a virtual world? Is that violence any less tragic if it's just 2 teams killing each other for no reason? Do you rationalize it that your team is protecting something honorable and that the other team just got back from a mission blowing up a hospital? I'm not trying to say your out rage is uncalled for I'm just trying to get some perspective here and maybe help you find some as well.
(Oh and FYI he has not lost. The world is pretty messed up and it's only getting worse. This coming from an Atheist. If he's real he's doing pretty good for himself about now.)
