Well, I never use assaults thats sure, the are just big bullet magnets, cumbersome.
Most likely a heavy or bigger medium.

Would have a Warhammer, but I have a hard time seeing jumpless heavies and assaults doing well in an urban environment without decent coverage from nimbler mechs (assuming the torso twist on bigger mechs will be slow...). Rear-firing arms for Marauder and Rifleman would make those contenders (overpowered?). I'll probably stick to mediums. If we can walk into buildings and shut down, then the aforementioned Warhammer might be a neat ambush Alpha strike candidate. Just always loved the look of that mech since the cover of battledroids boxed game.
Would love to see NPC vehicles (tanks, infantry, air strikes, drop ships, artillery...), and little extras like AA bonuses for Rifleman, or other minor bonuses that make certain chassis unique without making them game changers. This might steer me towards different mechs depending on my role.

Can you do that, pls?
That would really interest me and many others. Thx a lot!
Ps: Maybe it helps even the developers?! Who knows...

Of course, I myself will probably gravitate towards the fast light mechs as a scout or into the LRM platforms. So expect to see me in a Raven, Jenner, or Catapult.

Just two LBX-AC 20? My personal short range "brawler" has four + MG's and some medium ER-laser!
Sounds good, but i'm big, slow and a huge target. On open fields, i have no chance against ranged mechs. The advantage is urban close comabt. If available, you would see ME ride this old and ugly B*****d in MWO. The Wolf Dragoons have set up a few nasty variants and some of them even use clan-technology.
Edit: Light mech, assault mech, long range, short range... Every MechWarrior has their own preferences. That's what makes it so interesting.

Well, I personally used an Uziel quite well, considering it had jump jets, could carry a PPC, and LRM's and some other weapons without overheating and was fast as hell, AND could take a few hits without dying. For me it was the ultimate harrassing mech, could take down a lot of tonnage from far away and flank like mad! And that is the key behind such mechs, using them effectively in the roles they were made for.

But I'd happy ruin any Atlas' day in a Light 'Mech like a Jenner.

Purist here. I actually stopped playing the board game once they started ******** with the inner sphere mechs to "balance" them against the clan mechs. My online history starts back in 92 with the Kesmai MPBT game, so I have always had a fondness for those particular mechs. It has been my experience playing the board game, that people who must have clan mechs generally only understand pure firepower and speed, and hate having to understand the weaknesses of your mechs.
Locust - One of my favorites. The TBC used to challenge anyone to take on our Master Locust pilot, and his acolytes. They were allowed any mech, and very few pilots won that battle without using the bug in the game at the time where you could jump on top of the scenery and stay out of range (that was how I won before I became a clanner).
Jenner - Nice speed, and enough firepower to chew on most anything.
Pheonix Hawk - This is my favorite mech of the original 3025 mechs. Good maneuverability and decent firepower, but could overheat in the blink of an eye if the pilot got careless.

But letting the bad comparison aside, i agree to make speed a major advantage on par with firepower and armor.
Sorry, maybe i wasnt being technicall.. Im not in the military.. But i was talking a large main turret on top of a tank, Vrs a mounted machine gun.. You can spray from one side a veiw to the other and back, a large cannon on top of the tank could not move back and forth like that, aka its not as fast. Rate of fire, ext.. That was what i was meaning.. Yes i realize they are totally differnt calibers and guns and stuff,.. But that was what i was trying to compare.

Last night at Nanocon (local gaming convention) I was in a game of last mech standing with 7 other players. Most of the mechs were from 3025 tech readout and all BVs were within 200 or so (after adjusting pilot skills).
Mechs were King Crab, T-Bolt, Warhammer, Black Knight, Crusader, Archer, Marauder, while I piloted a Grasshopper.
The Grasshopper is awesome if played as a hard running up close brawler. Find a mech hiding in woods or hills and jump in next to them and start punching and kicking.
Winning was great but I think it was the joy of playing that mech that really made the game fun.
