Hey folks,

So I finally finished my 3D printed Atlas and got around to getting proper pictures done by Telkin Vaga over at triggerhappyphotography.

Roughly 30 parts (excluding pegs), Freely Stands at 6" tall, most of the major joints are movable. Printed in Silver PLA. The biggest challenge was keeping the integrity of the atlas design while making the joints operational in a physical model, coupled with the limitations of FDM printing.

The side guns are detachable, and as much of it was designed to snap together to reduce the use of glue. In hindsight, I should have designed everything to be snap fit... There's only 2 glued part from the upper torso up.

Anyways, you came here for pictures! so here they are!

Enjoy!

*edit* Oh I've neglected this thread... Updated pictures here so the burried ones are all in one place..

You see PGI if you would negotiate rights you could BE TAKING MY MONEY FOR ONE OF THESE!!!!!!!!!

Awesome work. Hope you do one for the Victor when the assets are available.

Actually, no I don't. Then I would want one, and CAN'T GET IT BECAUSE NONE OF THE INVOLVED PARTIES HAVW USED THEIR BRAINS TO FIGURE OUT MERCHANDISING WOULD MAKE THEM SOME SERIOUS DOUGH!!!!

(and we would get them cheaper than you can make them likely as getting them produced by the 1000s is always gonna be cheaper)

that is awesome! i think if you took some sandpaper and putty to this thing you can make its nice and smooth.
and its amazing that this thing stays upright using just regular round joints.

Looks like the BAP has detected a UAV camera, and is not amused. :)

Well that's officially the most adorable beagle active probe I've seen. Oh and nice Atlas! bet you put a lot of time into making that. I vote for PGI to make that adorable puppy into a decal, whenever we actually get those!

Jeezus. I want 5. Seriously. Im an avid Warhammer 40k player, and would love to use something like this to replace the stupid expensive GW models.

You can get one anywhere.. http://www.3ders.org...are/3dprinters/ has a huge list of them from like $500 - $20000 or you can use a printing service. I think the barrier to entry to this stuff isn't so much the printer itself, but more the 3D modeling requirements.

Yes, close. But far enough away that my BAP doesn't have to go down an elevator everytime she wants to flush coolant. ;)

The beagle is not happy she has to wake up from her nap to be used as a stand a camera in her face. But they're forgiving and tolerant that way, and most adorable when sleepy.

the collector side of me is raging inside my head saying " SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" Also, that atlas would go great with the Metal Gear Rex figure 3A released awhile back...if only it was small enough to be the pilot.
