If you could bring a vehicle to a Mech fight...?

I know, I Know! It's all about the Mechs! Of course it is! Buuuuuut... If you HAD to bring a vehicle (perhaps because of disgraced combat performance), what would it be?

I'm a long time TT, MechWarrior, and MegaMek player, AND I've definitely jockied more from the turn-based side, but I know a few of you piloted that one hover tank in MW.

IF you had to sit in a lowly vehicle, what would it be?

My choice? ... I really really have a soft spot for the Bandit G.

I know, it's one of those hovertanks that some will talk trash about but... oh baby. That armor... that Speed! [shivers with delight]...that tonnage. Have you ever seen what that baby can do with 151kph charge to a light mech's legs? And then drive away (assuming you haven't crit yourself into a 50ton paperweight)?

OR, if you've managed not to sideslip into that forest with your insane manuevering, the joy of lighting up the rear of some hapless victim with those medium and small flashlights?

I've confess my dirty little vee secret. What's yours?

[edit- and to clarify, specifically, in MWO, not table top, not anything else].

You know, i've always been a fan of the Burke. Trip-PPCs to the left leg is usually enough to at least stagger the lumbering thing. The only issue is speed. Or, more importantly, extreme lack thereof.

I have always been a fan of the Goblin Tank, and the Maxim Hover.

yes I know, Goblin is a lightweight, but it has that LL Turret!

and the Maxim, it has the power to make a hurting on light meks, and it can carry infantry, and it can play fire support, and it has SRMs... it can put a pretty good beatdown on the lights... though I wouldn't want to take on an atlas in it.

Can I...no, probably not... :P

I'll go with the Yellow Jacket or Hawk Moth VTOLs. Can't go wrong with a flying Gauss rifle. Well, at least until somebody brings out the LB-X Autocannons...

I'd bring a tricycle equipped with streamers, a bell, reflectors, and all of my favorite stickers. The tricycle will be painted blue with pink and yellow flowers. I will carry a bozooka while riding the tricycle, and the bazooka will have a skull and crossbones painted on the side. A wagon tied to the back will be filled with thirty pounds of dynamite, which I will light and throw at the legs of any oncoming battlemechs.

If ASFs are allowed then I think I'll have a Striga or an Eisensturm too.

The Alacorn, of course, is an amazing tank:

Triple gauss rifles will ruin anyone's day.

But, something more reasonable, and one of my favorites, is the VonLuckner:

I love the Karnov for some reason. Particularly the Periphery version with 4 Rocket-40s, and 6 Rocket-20s. Something about a fast VTOL just gets me going.

I was ALWAYS partial to a Slayer, however, I'll take a Xerxes or an Ammon any day of the week...

Hmmm.... missile magnet....

P.S. I'd be willing to bet that it is visible from space, therefore targetable for an orbital bombardment. Can we say "SMOKING CRATER"?

For my vehicile.. I'd have to say artillery vehicles really catch my eye as a Mech stopping power.

This one in particular seems.. very painful.

Though it suffers from being of the wrong era, I've always been partial to the Musketeer.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Musketeer

For a ride more likely to be available during the MWO timeframe, though the Gabriel is intriguing I think the Lightning would be more fun.

The way I see it, vehicles are always going to be vulnerable. The best way to ensure your survival is to move fast at all times, sort of performing a light horse-archer cavalry role.

AHHA! The Alacorn!!! How could I have forgotten? Another staple (and widely loathed) tank. 3x Gauss will get you nasty looks from across the table. Both good choices. Challenger X too, another one of my go-tos.

The Mars!?! ...yeah, I know what I'm shooting at when I see that beast. Ponies for the Win!
