Jump-jet shake very welcome as I don't use them and refuse to use them. Hopefully leads to shorter range combat and in-your-face brawls.

HSR on missiles welcome, hopefully improves Streaks to make them more viable again.

Really looking forward to 3rd Person (no, not being sarcastic). Love that view and will bring me back to the old MW4:Mercs days. I will play in 3rd Person as much as I possibly can and will probably only play 1st Person if most of my unit is playing it.

EDIT: Ok, so doesn't look like HSR or weapon balancing touched Streaks....

I have learned to not fully believe anything Bryan tells me, and I think others feel the same. I was told 12v12 in 30-60 days, Orion in June, etc. etc.. The list goes on.

It's due out in the first patch of July. Do you really want them to just drop massive game changing things like that without proper testing? What if it broke the game completely on the live server? There would be way more pissed off people then than the way its going to be released currently.

we're getting it in june, which is getting 12v12 in the test server so that bugs that will certainly appear to be quashed can be before the entire forums melt down again like with LRMapocs 1-4, poptarting, HSR, HUD bugs, CTDs, and every other technical issue that happens each and every patch that people need to post 15-20 new threads about per day because HA, YOU WANT ME TO POST SUPPORT TICKETS, I WILL HULK SMASH UR FORUMS WITH RAGE INSTEAD!

This right here is what unsettles me about the Sarah mech. Nothing to do with supporting cancer charity. Everything to do with some freebie postive PR.

except...

On Bryans twitter feed:

Q: Will the Sarah!Mech have ALL proceeds going to charity? If not, I'm going to be frankly pretty offended.
Bryan Ekman: of course.

Huh....that's funny. Not once is there any mention on over heat penalties. Can I assume it's been scratched off the board?

Seriously. They should have just done a 3050 Banner hanging object that says "Mechwarrior against cancer" and I would have bought 20-30 dollars worth.

Better still, a link on the front page of the website that includes a link to a cancer charity chosen by her father. Keep it out of the game entirely. Either you support cancer charity, or you don't. A slacktivist way of buying an in game item that relates to it is a high profile, but lazy way to show your (not you personally) support and frankly stinks to high heaven imo.

It's sick. (No, the smelly vomity kind, not the "wow cool bro" kind)

Seriously though, it is sick the way they are going about it. PGI posted the link for people to donate but I bet not even 1% of the people drooling over a dead girl mech even clicked on it to donate.

They dropped Seismic Sensor, a.k.a. wallhack, and have dropped broken LRMs multiple times now. Don't ask me to be grateful for something that is arriving late. Don't tell me a date if you can't meet it.

That link was in the announcement, and I fully agree with you.

Any new Mech is a good Mech as long as its not buggy. If the Orion is delayed so be it. How many Orions have I run in 20+ years of TT action? Not that many. A venerable but ultimately pedestrian design. With the level of customization in the game you can make any 75 tonner carry the same equipment. It would be nice to have at least one of every weight category but this is hardly the number one priority to me, that would be CW, 12 v 12; i.e. stuff that makes the game have meaning (at least to us geeks).

3rd person is another matter entirely. It's a self-inflicted wound on what has to date been a great game. Despite bugs, patches needed, missteps, whatever, I love this game. I played World of Tanks for about 5 minutes and figured out it sucks primarily due to the 3rd person issue. It's too big of a cheat. There's no way around the fact it provides a huge advantage. It tilts the game away from the simulator it's supposed to be (and was billed as) and toward being an arcade game. Those are a dime a dozen right now. Carve out a niche as something special and I think players will come to that. Be like all the other, lesser, games, and have fun with all the crappy noobs who are left. Perhaps the goal is to drive all the better players away (an Exodus) so then we can come back as the Clans and crush the losers who need 3rd person to survive. If you want to check out your paint job that bad, you can do it in the Mechbay.

No other reason any decent player would want 3rd person. I say anyone who does is worse than a Davion, and that's saying something!

We know very little about this test server. Also, by the way, test server to me means that the game is launched, because what is it going to be, a beta within a beta? What is this, MWO Inception?

Bryan, your teams worst quality - Clear communication. I'm shaking my head for all of the players right now.. We were all expecting the Orion and you let us down again.

This 100X over, not only were we looking forward to the orion, you decide to announce one of the WORSTE mechs in battletech history in its place. a lot of people are theroughly pissed atm...

"The Quickdraw was originally built in 2779[2][3] as a competitor to the Rifleman BattleMech. In this respect, the model was unsuccessful. However, because of its excellent mobility, with a ground speed of 86.4 km/h and its jumping distance of one hundred and fifty meters, as well as its mostly short range weapons assortment, the Quickdraw is a powerful close combat 'Mech. It has one major flaw though: its light armor protection. With armor on par with most mid-grade medium 'Mechs, the Quickdraw is barely capable of standing up to heavier 'Mechs.[3] " -Sarna

Yall tell me how that's going to play out in todays meta, that mech is going to get ground to a pulp.

I've always enjoyed this particular version of the quick draw. And I hope its the design that Alex has based his off, rather than the more demented looking original.

I understand the negativity toward the Sarah mech. I do. But if the proceeds truly do go 100% to cancer research, and it convinces a handful of people that can't be bothered to go and donate on their own to fork out some cash for an in-game avatar, then why isn't it worth it?
Yes, it's a PR touch. Sure. I get that. But I don't blame PGI for going this route, especially since there's a community demand. And if money gets shoved toward the fight against cancer (which is a fate I wish on no person. Ever), what's the downside?

Yes? I see nothing wrong with test servers. I think they should have been released sooner. Clearly there is a section of the community that still has no clue what a beta is (as they keep calling it release because THEY TOOK MAH MONEY) or how it works (by the constant stream of tears about everything), so the dedicated testers like in CB can do the test server and give positive/negative feedback accordingly, and hopefully we'll have more stable "live" patches in the furture.

As Bryan(?) said in the ATD, some issues only start arising when 10,000 people start playing, and clearly as evidence from all the issues over time the telemetry or whatever they've been doing hasn't been catching everything as well as it probably should.

The amount of general ********* going on here is ridiculous. I understand people get impatient waiting on things, but crap happens in development. What if the Orion was OP and they released it anyways? then all of you would ***** and moan about balancing issues. If they don't think it's ready and needs to be bumped then tough luck.

I don't have kids (yet) but honest to God it feels like I'm having to explain to a bunch of children why they didn't get the present they wanted for a birthday/Christmas.

An explanation to that effect would have been nice rather than the old "bait-and-switch" act that they pulled. Do they have to explain ALL of their reasoning? No. But a reason would be appreciated nonetheless.

[REDACTED]

Who said that it won't be a special mech where the proceeds go to charity? How about wait for details before you make blind and ignorant complaints about something. Every company ever that has donated to charity also does it for the "freebie positive PR".

I never thought, even in forum with all it's immature children, did I think that you guys would cry and complain and try to pull out all this negativity from making a special mech dedicated to a little girl that passed away who loved this game and her Jenner.
