My issue is in May they said June 18th was the date the Orion was to be released. Even had the artwork and thread out there for it. Only to announce today that it isn't going to be released for another 4-5 months. If they are going to start doing that I'd rather not know the mech at all until they announce it before the patch that is introducing it.

Learn to respect your elders, boy.

Well, that's the problem. What is the big deal about it? It's not like we're gonna get ZERO mechs, we're still getting one. It's not the Orion but the Quickdraw. When I saw that news I thought "Eh, sure why not" and did not really care about the Orion getting delayed (yeah 3-4 months is a lot)

Bryan, I don't know how many times we have to tell you about how poor your communication with the community is. You continue to hide answers to questions on your Twitter (when you reply to a specific individual, that does not appear in anyone else's newsfeed so we have to actually look at your Twitter to see the reply) and now here you reveal that you are releasing on us a mech we haven't even SEEN yet in place of another one we have seen for MONTHS and expected, and third person went from no one working on it to testing in 30-60 days. As someone who has spent $250+ on this game (most of it many months ago now), I really don't appreciate this level of secrecy, poor communication, poor judgement, and poor QA.

Sigh... Tiffany cufflinks shat and again it's overshadowed by cynicism.

WHAT?! A shuffle of Mechs!!!! No one bothers to assume something about it was not ready for release and herald the decision to offer a replacement rather than leaving the shipment empty?

WHAT?! 12 v 12 delayed again!!! No one bothers to assume testing it might be better served on the test servers than on the public ones to avoid the whole "this is broken garbage how can you foist this upon us!" diatribes?

WHAT?! 3rd person moves forward!!! As if no one knew this was not still in the hopper nor appreciating the fact that it's AN ELECTIVE OPTION and actually will work as a filtering mechanism to help separate the serious MW players from the more casual players?

Nothing but wailing and gnashing of teeth...

Agree - prefer the Sarah's mech is named something else (perhaps even not a Jenner) but the motivation/drive towards the release remains dedicated.

As far as the crying on here: Plans shift - you make do with what you're making progress on and finishing. Technical projects rarely go as planned.

The level of maturity is typically low on internet forums. "Save your crying for the forums." should probably be tattooed onto a number of posters.

Quickdraw? Surprise, surprise. I actually appreciate the surprise, it's just that this particular one isn't a very pleasant one for me. Quickdraw is fine, I'll probably even buy them. 60 ton fast heavy with JJs and without ballistics? Well, it sounds like a heavier Treb, so if SRMs are back to some sort of glory, QD might just happen to be fun to play yet.

BUT HELL, IT JUST DOESN'T HAVE THE OOMPH TO MAKE UP FOR REPLACING ORION :(((((((((((((

I know I'd be less sad if it was a Thunderbolt or Grasshopper, but well, it is what it is.

In other news, I believe thanks are due for Sarah's mech and for Firebrand and for missile HSR, so life goes on. :)

Orion was bumped by one cycle (3-4 months). It will be the next Heavy.

Can you guys at least come out and have a bit of mea culpa on this issue.

e.g. We found some problems with the Orion that necessitated fixing, requiring us to launch a Quickdraw in its place.

Otherwise we can only assume that this is just another way in which PGI disrespects its most hardcore fanbase.

This update feels like someone's shaken my hand... just after spitting in his hand. :)

And you call yourself a Clanner? There is a reason Timber Wolf was made at 75 tons.

It is de-facto the best weight you can have on a mech, period. The best blend of speed, armor and arament as perfectly demonstrated by the aforementioned mech. Comparing it to a lackluster 3025-er... I think anyone would take Orion instead.

I prefer a fast Hellbringer or Kitfox but whatever floats your boat.

As for 75 tonners, sure I would have liked the Orion. It is a decent mech. Im just saying compared to the rest of the change,s waiting for a bit for the Orion is not going to make me sad at all.

One final though. Unlike most mechs, the Orion IIc is almost identical to the original, so if they wait for the clan mechs come out, perhaps they can release the Orion IIc along with the Orion (and omni mehcs) with minimal art work necessary. Im speculating of coourse, but it would be cool if that were the case.

In MWO ideal weight is 35 tons.It is what makes Jenners and Rvn-3L best mechs if you do not count 40+ dmg alphastriking snipers/dual AC20 mechs.

Also, reading this thread, I feel some clarifications are in Order:
55 ton mechs (medium weight class): none to date
60:(heavy) Quickdraw, dragon
65: (heavy) catapault, jaegermech
70: (heavy) cataphract
75 (heavy) orion
80: (assault) victor, awesome
85: stalker
90: highlander
95: none
100: atlas

4 man's try to match weight class. 8 man's ignore tonnage and class (for now...). Some player leagues/ events use either tonnage or weight class matching.

I ordered a pizza the other day. The pizza man told me it would come to my house in about 30min. A week later the pizza man shows up with my pizza, after I call him many times asking where my pizza is. I'm supposed to be happy I got the pizza even if it's a week late because I'm not a pizza man?

They're not the same thing, and if you think they are, you're...less than understanding of how things actuallywork. Making a pizza is a known thing, you don't grow the olives, make the cheese, build the furnace, raise the pigs, make the pepperoni, farm the wheat, make the bred, and figure out how to make the pizza. Coding, you have to make the ingredients, make them work together, and it's often all done from scratch...not at all similar to pizza.

There is a thread specifically for discussing the way 3rd Person View will be implemented. It is here: http://mwomercs.com/...095-3rd-person/

Anyone can feel free to visit that thread to leave suggestions/join discussion about the implementation of 3rd Person View. Please keep in mind that the thread linked is meant for constructive discussion, however, so please try to keep your comments relegated to ways 3PV can be added to the game positively/non intrusively. Also, bear in mind, the Devs have said that you will be able to choose whether to fight 3PV/1PV opponents Your discussion points could use that point as a stepping-stone for further discussion...

No thanks. I have no constructive criticism for the guy. He and PGI has already gone against their word on two of their design pillars. So now we are asked to help them come up with more ideas to milk the community after lying to us? no thanks.

Energy + JJs = better than the dragon.

at least in the next Marik league we won't have such a huge gap in usefulness from 70-> 50 tons.

I'm officially confused now... So when the hell is the Orion coming? Is it coming AT ALL??? This is not the way to do a reveal Bryan...

When you actually were starting to reel me in with Firebrand making me to buy a hero mech, i'm now AGAIN pulled back because your house is not as in order as it seams.

Do a propper QA and get rid of the "leaks" mentality, it didnt work with Microsoft and it wont work here, the old guard are not screaming Xbox toddlers Bryan...
